Be Exceptional Rebalanced aims to rebalance the excellent Be Exceptional by rcoll to provide an experience similar to Fallout New Vegas.

With this mod, when your character reaches level 78 they can be the equivalent of a level 50 (max level) New Vegas character.

Without this rebalance at only level 39 your character can be the equivalent of a level 50 New Vegas character.

Why specifically level 78?

I could have balanced it so a level 50 Fallout 4 character equaled a level 50 New Vegas character but that wouldn't be accurate. Fallout 4 doesn't have a cap and levels are earned at a faster pace than New Vegas. I got my immersion scientists on the case to research what Fallout 4's level cap would be if it had one.
After crunching the numbers they found that level 78 would be the cap for Fallout 4 if it was capped to have a similar curve to New Vegas. This mod doesn't cap your level though. You can use a level cap mod with this if you want to for an extra challenge.

Versions

Fallout 4 level 78 character = New Vegas level 50 character (Recommended, No INT bonus)
Fallout 4 level 117 character = New Vegas level 50 character (1.5x harder, No INT bonus)
Fallout 4 level 156 character = New Vegas level 50 character (2x harder, No INT bonus)
Intelligence Based - This version gives you SP based on INT only. (Slightly harder than recommended)

Requirements

Be Exceptional

Installation

Install with NMM. Click the Download with Manager Button and then activate it in the Mod Manager. Follow the FOMOD installer to select your version.

If you're installing mid game follow the uninstall process for Be Exceptional detailed on the mod page, reinstall Be Exceptional and install Be Exceptional Rebalanced with it, then load the save you made during the uninstall process.

Be Exceptional automatically distributes the proper amount of skill points when installed mid game but it does not reimburse you perk points for perks you had that it removes. To find out how many perk points you should add back to your character, use the following formula:

(Current level - 1) - (SPECIAL points gained using perk points - 28) - Number of perks or perk ranks gained with perk points still left after install

Then add them with the console command: CGF "Game.AddPerkPoints" (Number to add)

Example:

For a level 70 character with maxed SPECIAL and two perks left after install the math would be:

(70 - 1) - (70 - 28) - 2

69 - 42 - 2

25

So the console command would be: CGF "Game.AddPerkPoints" 25

FAQ

Q: Does this change XP gain?
A: No. It only changes SP gain. You will level up at the same pace but you won't get as much SP for leveling up.

Q: Does this make it so you only get perk points every other level like in New Vegas?
A: No because perks in Fallout 4 aren't nearly as good as the ones in New Vegas. Also you don't get traits in Fallout 4.

Q: Does this mean I will be able to max all of my skills at the level listed for the version I chose?
A: No. You couldn't max all your skills in New Vegas without an exploit so at the level listed you won't have all skills maxed. You'll have the same ratio of SP you would in New Vegas at level 50. It will take you some more levels to max them all. Alternately you can cap your level at the level listed for the version you're using with a level cap mod which would make it so you can't max all of your skills just like in New Vegas.
