Good work. Unfortunately, I had the same problem as someone below. Having this installed really messed with my framerate.

Yeah, you are not the first one complaining about this issue.
I doubt this is because of compression type - it's the same as in most vanilla textures
(DXT1/DXT5 diffuse + ATI2 spec, normal; not the newer DX11 BCx types)

You can test this archive and tell if it solved the framerate problem. It has my forsythia and vines' textures.

Don't forget to append it's name to Fallout4.ini sResourceIndexFileList.

I redid a lot of True Grass Textures and initially saved them as dtx5. got a huge fps drop. Resaving as Dtx1 (unless there is a need for an alpha channel which I don't think any grass has) made a big improvement.

I never saw a Forsythia with red leaves. Green leaves, sure (Forsythia x intermedia has green leaves i think), but red?

Well whatever, this is Fallout, where giant scorpions can rip your flesh off your face and giant lizards can impale you with their claws, like if you are the butter and they the knife...

Why not brown? the first one looks too red and the other one is too green and doesn't fit with the wasteland.

Red is the base leaf color of vanilla diffuse texture. I just made it brighter. And green is just a hue shift to match real photo references.

Think you'll tweak any of the other uglier plants? You've done a great job with this and the Vines.

Is there any specific plant you'd like to point out?

Would've cost Bethesda Game Studios too much to change it to the right color, so they stuck with black. The budget killed it!

That and time constraints I should think, made that huge world and couldn't finish an assault rifle.

I have a fairly crappy monitor which makes the flickering problem even worse so this should be a great improvement. I hate demanding things from people that make free mods but if you do any more of these I would make 1k versions of everything and maybe warn people about possible performance issues. For me at least, installing just this as loose files completely wrecked my framerate, nothing wrong with the mod though as its something that is common to all plant retextures unless they are optimised and packaged in ba2's.

This is a great idea and if you don't lighten more plants I probably will, if I stand still and aim a weapon outside the flickering is crazy bad.
