The fixes in the message below have been released as v0.6.1. Please, download the new version now. Sorry for the problematic initial release and the issues it caused. Big thanks to FelesNoctis for cooperation in testing and bugs investigation.
Kara and I are currently testing. Game version shouldn't matter as the only differences are what PPR is built against. Will continued to be edited as testing progresses.
Here's the list of issues reported, as well as testing progress:
Environment: Fallout 4 v1.10.984 and F4SE v0.7.2, Mod Organizer 2, Root Builder, xSE PluginPreloader F4 0.3
Menu/Mesh/Console tinting:Confirmed. Actual color appears to be pseudo-random. (fixed in dev)
ENB Settings Wipe: Confirmed when PPR is active. Disabling PPR appears to recover settings.enblocal.ini restores its settings, enbseries.ini and others are wiped. - Further testing shows ENB also has to compile shaders on every launch with PPR enabled.(ENB issues are tentatively fixed in dev, but still testing)
Mod Configuration Menu "broken": Confirmed, strings are not read from translation file, settings aren't saved properly. (fixed in dev)
PipboyTabs (and related) not loading: Confirmed, tabs do not appear in Pip-boy interface. (fixed in dev)
FO4 Hotkeys buttons not working: Confirmed. Action assignments are stored in save game, but hotkeys don't function. (fixed in dev)
Pip-Boy Text Too Bright: Can't confirm. Pip-boy looks normal to me across tests.

MaxsuBlockOverhaul v0.22: No CTD. No unusual behavior noticed.
I used this mod many years ago and had no issues. But when I installed it today, I had issues in-game. After the game loaded (a saved load), the WHOLE scene was in an EXTREMELY close-up and scene moved up and down so that I couldn't see nor move.
My game specs:

Fallout 4 (1.10.163.0) [all six DLCs] [NO Creation Club mods!]

FO4EDIT LOOT (STANDALONE) Wrye Bash
Fallout 4 Script Extender (0.06.23) Installation 1: ALL files into game's MAIN folder Installation 2: ONLY the SCRIPTS folder installed via Mod Organizer 2.
xSE: Installation: Into game's MAIN folder.
PrivatweProfileRedirector (version 5.0.3 for FO4 v163): Installation: Into game's DATA folder.
I get the following error using the second main file for F4SE 0.6.21 (this is from F4SE's log): Couldn't load PrivateProfileRedirector.dll (PrivateProfileRedirector F4 - Faster game start (INI file cacher)). The last error code was 998.
This entire business of opening, checking, and closing everything is the same problem that makes the workshop menu a nightmare lagfest once things are added. I believe registrator2000 set up a similar solution with Faster Workshop.
In the grand scheme of things PPR v0.5.3 should be fine for runtime 163. The difference between versions is minor, the big deal is just having it in the first place!
there's a method of combining dlls so one dll works for all versions. skyrim uses that a lot (plugins that work for both special and anniversary editions are called NG), and in fo4 it's used by "Buffout 4 NG with PDB support" for example. if you used that, you probably wouldn't have to keep builds for different versions, they (163, vr and ng) could be all using a single build.
I wanted to wait for NG but it is too late for me an I have given up hope all mods will pick up now personally: I hope "For Fallout 4 v1.10.163 and F4SE v0.6.21" is the right pick for the 163 version.
0.6.2 loads fine seems to work well, but i do notice it's heavily spamming its logfile with these constant events [2024-10-02/20:40:33.691][PID:032448|UNK:025980][Information] DllMain(0x7ffba1f00000, DLL_THREAD_ATTACH, 0x0) [2024-10-02/20:40:33.691][PID:032448|UNK:025980][Information] DllMain(0x7ffba1f00000, DLL_THREAD_DETACH, 0x0) [2024-10-02/20:40:33.711][PID:032448|UNK:004972][Information] DllMain(0x7ffba1f00000, DLL_THREAD_ATTACH, 0x0) [2024-10-02/20:40:33.712][PID:032448|UNK:004972][Information] DllMain(0x7ffba1f00000, DLL_THREAD_DETACH, 0x0) Pastebin of the full log for more context
Not sure if it's even a big deal, just thought worth mentioning.
Launching the game via f4se says the plugin for PPR failed to load correctly. I am on the latest for next gen, f4se, and this mod. I installed and activated it via MO2. Stupid question probably, but am I missing something?
