Just going back to the mods I downloaded over the years and going 'I remember this s***!' at some of them.
Now I had downloaded the 10% lootcrate one at the time and it was nuts in the beginning! The Radroaches at the beginning had a chance to spawn them and I was unlucky enough to have super mutant behemoths or groups of enemy settlers kicking my ass.
This is a neat idea, but which version should I download ? Also I don't want the ability to create these in settlements I'd rather it just be a random surprise (like 2% chance) whenever I kill an enemy. 10% is just way too high of a chance
Edit: Downloaded the second version 1.0 where it says drops from enemies. Then followed the instructions by another user here to change int32 under F04edit in the quest tab from 10 to 2 (10% to 2%) since I think that's a more reasonable number.
This mod goes well with this: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/43322? , which allows loot midgets to spawn when you open a container
Hi! I don't want to be annoying and ask for something too specific, but would it be possible to get the SuperLoot version with a smaller percentage chance, like 1 or 2.5%? You kill things so often in FO4 that with the 10% option it feels like you'll be stumbling over Lucky Crates everywhere you go. If not, that's fine too-- don't want to put you out of your way!
(By the way, your daughter's drawing was positively heartwarming. Thank you for sharing and thank you for being the type of parent that'll take their time to make her idea come to life! I'm sure it made her quite happy.)
For anyone wondering I was able to edit this easily with FO4Edit to change drop rates. Now because I'm not the original author I can't guarantee that this is perfect and won't cause bugs but this is what I did.
Load the esp into FO4Edit click "Quest" to expand, then _gkx_qust_lucky_crates, To the right you will see Properties, Click "Int32 | 10" and change the 10 to your desired number. Example Image
TLDR, How I tested it.

I went looking for the number 10 since GKX states this mod activates 10% of the time, When I found the Int32 value I changed it to 100% and then assaulted about 60 enemies from Mr. Gutsys to Super Mutants, to Deathclaws and Rad Roaches; ALL enemies produced a box except Super Mutant Suiciders (But I use the Super Mutant Overhaul so maybe it changes them or maybe they die too quickly for the mod to "see".
Then I changed the value to 2 and restarted the game only finding 1 enemy with the Lucky Crate so far in the past hour so it seems to work, and now at 2 percent it'll be a bit rarer and I'll appreciate them more.
10/10 mod, have been modding Fallout again, and dear god... these luckycrates are a death trap! One crate I got spawned a mirelurk queen and child of atom npc, then shortly afterward that one dropped another lucky crate. Which then spawned several raiders! Crazy fun!
They don't spawn for me at all, can make in workshop but no crates spawn on enemies killed. Any help appreciated, the mod looks cool and would add some 'surprises' to be sure. Thanks in advance
I downloaded this on a whim for the play through i started last night and I have to say, this is super fun and slightly OP lol. Inside the vault i had a box drop from a radroach that had a missile launcher and a submachine gun and some various other small things. Of course I had no ammo, but I was feeling super powerful just from getting the drop. Then when in Sanctuary clearing bugs from houses I got another box drop. So I hit it to open it and to my surprise I got a shot to the face from a supermutant which wrecked me. It was great. I laughed so hard. But to people playing this, don't melee range open the boxes, shoot em from a distance, in case you get a supermutant present inside! Thank you for this mod. Love it.
EDIT: I previously posted about a patch possibly wrecking the mobs dropping crates. For whatever reason, after a clean install and half a year later, it's working as intended. I'll assume it was some sort of mod incompatibility on my end.
only issue i see with that is how many there are and where some are some are in some pretty tight places they would have to replace them by hand really
could work, personally i like the idea of hand placing them, much harder for sure, but would definitely get both of your mod put up near the top for easter egg hunting, especially if hand placed ones sometimes come with unique trinkets or clutter ;)
