So, being the helpful and nice friend of the Drivables that they are, ShadowLiger brought these to our attention for the base mods to help with people who'd like to have a closer camera view when riding. So, figured I'd also bring them up here, on this fantastic patch she's made for us:
Before you do anything, backup your ini. Then, for a closer 3rd person camera view when riding, add (or change if existing) this to your Fallout.ini (or Falloutcustom.ini): [camera] fVertibirdAutoVanityZoom=350.0000 fVertibirdVanityModeMaxDist=2000.0000 fVertibirdVanityModeMinDist=350.0000
Adjust those numbers to your liking (that's a good setup for the small animals, like the Radstag, but may not be great for the trucks)."
**Note that this is also linked to Vertibird flight perspective and any of our other drivables.**
***While I'll mention it on this page, we do not support ini edits, so please do this at your own risk...and, again, backup your ini before hand.***
The answer to your first question is both yes and no. Yes they will follow the player and fight for them and will carry (unlimited) gear if equipped with a dog pack, and you can tell them to stay or follow, they also don't take up an active companion slot. But at the same time no, because of their size they are specifically designed not to follow the player into an interior cell as they would block entire hallways not just doorways. As for making them normal companions in the future, its a possibility, though I have around 30 different canine creations I need to turn into companions on top of these.
What about your character's bone tail? Or is that in the Four Horsemen mod? Edit: am retarded and just realized it was part of the doom hound. Nevermind lol
So......... Let's Get to the Point, I Don't want Any other bulls***, Just the Nightmare Baby.....!!!!
I've read the description & felt like my heart had gone for a rollercoaster ride after reading that this mod is never going be "Standalone" i mean phfff WTH..?
Never used a driveable anything in F/O4 before, I seen this mod and had to try it. I will say it is a very cool looking mount/dog, or whatever it is lol. beats the hell out of me how you exit the mount, but I am figuring operator error on my part. Justed to say excellent mod and of course endorsed.
is it possible to just download this mod and not have to download the mountable companion mod and still have this mod function properly? I really only wanted this mod so that way I could re-skin my Dogmeat into this badass looking demon hound.
It won't work without the main mod as the skins are crafted at a bench from that mod. I will, however, be releasing a mod soon that allows people to craft the skins of all my canine creations. So for now I'd say stay tuned for that.
Is there a reason why there isn't a rideable horse mod for FO4? (Not talking about giddyup buttercup) With all the horse lovers in the world, vault Tec had to save at least a few horses from the great war.
It was confirmed cannon that horses went extinct. Still I don't see any logical reasons for that. Horses would be incredible valuable for the wastelander after the bombs drop due to them being excelent forms for transportation trough all sorts of terrain. Most horses would most likely be saved shortly after the bombs fell, and it wouldn't be unlikely that someone would store them in a vault or a bunker to prevent them from going extinct. A mod featuring skyrim horses with the skyrim horse animation would be great. Would love it if some modders out there got permission to use skyrim assets to implement it. Perhaps make it so certain NPC could randomly have enemies riding on horses too? Perhaps not lore friendly, but certainly not unrealistic.
It's cannon the bombs never fell on New Vegas, there are wild mustangs in Nevada. They have lived for hundred of years in the US South West. The cowboys who used to catch and tame mustangs were called mustang runners. There's a cool name for a mod "The Mustang Runners".
I always thought that it was rather stupid that they went extinct yet various more fragile species survived, honestly this is one of the few things I DO hope Bethesda ret-con's in the next main Fallout title.
