Hi, I have a critique is that I discovered the ground in Fallout 4 is never flat, and laying the objects down the objects look like they are floating in the air. I mean they have to sink inside the ground a little to look like they have weight or to appear there is some gravity when really there isn't.
Yea you have to either use place everywhere, or there's a technique to sink stuff in. There are videos on youtube but here's the quick version of how to do it with vanilla setup:
Build your object, kind of away from other stuff. Build a stone column right next to it from the concrete section (think it might be under walls?). In build mode grab the stone column but do the long press, which selects multiple items. This way when you move the stone column the other item moves too. The stone column can be sunk in ground, so you can move it up and down and the other item will also sink into ground. Once you are done, just move the stone column on its own or pack it up.
Awesome, Awesome, AWESOME work! Thank you so very much for releasing these and as a permission granted modder's resource! As someone working on a rather large project, I appreciate when these types of resources areavailiable, so Thank You! I also wanted to point out that the Textures for the Chainlink fence are missing, not a big deal, but fyi. Thank You again-Peace!
Hey, was just now looking at these comments. Glad you are liking the mod. About the Chainlink fence, IIRC I left it out because It was giving me trouble... I forget, I think I must have left that in there by mistake. I don't even remember where I got that model from, so for that I apologize. But I'm sure it could still be used somehow, if someone wanted to make some new texture for it.
...so I'm trying to understand the difference between the two files and correct me if I'm wrong...but the doom file tab puts all the items under one icon in the build menu and the custom file puts the proper item under its respective build area (i.e. wooden fence under the picket fence/walls icon, garbage cans under the containers icon etc...)? It's a large file to download so I wanna pick the right one. I only have the core FO4 and no DLCs so the file I use should not matter? ...disregard...after re re re reading the the files titles, I've answered the question of which build icon file options the custom/Special tab and the new/Doom tab items would show up under.
Wanted to take the time to say how much I love this mod...especially the more modern stuff: T-barriers, electronics, containers...definitely helps flesh out some settlements and outposts! Hope you have more planned when you have time!
Honestly just love this! Have not played Fallout 4 in a couple weeks but now back because of this mod! Been looking for those fences forever! Love it all! So well done and thank you so much for the hard excellent work!
