Also loved using this from when you first started it. I have a request though. Another mod had a section for the settlers that told when they were unemployed, homeless and things like that. It also scanned the settlement and had the option to assign them an unowned bed, unowned work area and a few other things that I can't remember offhand. That mod updated and doesn't have those options anymore. I don't remember that mod so it could even be this one. Still...I was hoping you could implement those options for settlers. It worked great with Sim Settlements and our happiness rating for most settlements was always great. Thanks Pra.
Love the mod, I keep finding more useful features. The one I find I use most often is the "Send everybody to work" function. Unfortunately, it is one that is not able to be hot keyed and you can't construct an aid item for it. Is there any chance you could make this possible? I can hot key find owner of nearest plot, but a lot of city plans use commercial jobs that are not plots (the "blue men" in workshop mode). Send everybody to work does work on these, but find owner does not. Alternatively, if you can give me a command I can run for this function, I can hotkey it myself.
I could give you a cqf command, but the function which does that assumes that you have selected a workshop through the holotape. The other hotkey functions do a workshop lookup first, I'd have to make a similar function here, too.
The instructions in MCM (at the bottom) have "send settlers back to their homes" (or something) when setting both the "send to work" and "send to homes" hotkey options. Personally I don't care, but I thought I'd let you know just in case you do.
Uh. Did ya'll flag the Holotape as a Holotape or is it still sitting in the Misc tab on inventory? Thanks for all the hard work on ASAM. It's saved my butt tons of times. The grandkids get to go around shooting and killing and I get to stay in my peaceful city building my Sim City. hehehe. Oh. Is the Holotape craftable now? I kept having to use the In Game ESP Explorer to get holotapes when using alternate start mods.
Thanks for the quick reply. Load Order conflict with 900 mods. Just had to move it waaay lower in my load order under the other settlement manager holotape. Working just perfect again. Many thanks and kudo's to you.
I've got a weird "bug". Hotkeys and options in the MCM seam to work great (love those features btw). But when I boot up the holotape all placeholders show <token.something something> instead off the values... does someone know what's wrong?
In all terminals, or just in one specific? I had such a terminal once. Stored and re-placed it, that fixed it.
It seems that questalias-based text replacement only works if the terminal is in exactly one quest alias. if another quest takes it first, your quest has no chance.
Ahm... I just had a thought. I tried to read the holotape on my pipboy. Should I have used it at a settlment terminal or even the terminal at the leader-thingy "workbench"? ...that could be it... I'll try that when I'm home.
Oh what. It doesn't work on the pip-boy, due to engine limitations. But I thought I added handling for this, so that it doesn't even show certain options, if they require tokens or aliases. Did you get a message like "pip-boy detected, some features unavailable"?
Kinggath told me once that the PipBoy detection in SimSettlements isn't really reliable. I guess I should have a look if I can add some more failsafes.
Take it easy. It can be very well my mistake. I didn't test it thoroughly before writing this post. My fault. I'll take a good look tomorrow. I don't want to cause any unnecessary effort. You're already doing more the enough for the fo4 community :)
So I was able to test a bit more thoroughly. I ran the holotape on a terminal in the settlment and tadaaa... and holly mother, what a awesome mod. I did not expect that degree of polish and such a nicely structured/dynamic holotape menu. Having done some lil mods myself I can only appreciate your skillset and the effort that went into this mod. kudos.
The bad news is, I can load the holotape on my pipboy and no warning "pip-boy detected, some features unavailable" pop's up in any kind of way. The menu shows up like it was on a terminal but with the text-replacement data unreplaced.
Is it possible that I'm overwriting some vanilla objects that you're editing in this mod? Can I help in some kind of way, xEdit check or something?
No idea TBH... I *think* I am relying on KG's global variable for pip-boy detection. Which he warned me about. Maybe it's a script load-based issue, he's probably using an event handler, which fires too late for you maybe?
There is another check I can do to see whenever a terminal record is being called from a pip-boy, but I'm surprised that I didn't do it already...
**double smacks forehead** I've been playing this mod for like 300h and just now realized you can craft things AT the freaking city planner's desk. Been making ASAM sensors at the chemistry station and somehow totally missed that function LOL
This mod saves me so much headache when dealing with the settlement sheep. get stuck on a roof? Send them to home or work. Settler not acting properly? Reset um back to the workshop.
And i love the fact its a tape for the pipboy or the SS terminal. And the fact it helps me diagnose problem plots.
Does not seem to work for me, have tried both the ESL & ESP versions and the holotape does not show up in the city managers desk for crafting, unless I have done something wrong, I am using the latest version Vortex to control mods.
All I get in the City Managers Desk is....
City Mangers Holotape Vault-Tec Tools Holotape [SETTINGS] Captain Coots Helper Holotape [SETTINGS] Vault-tec Tools Holotape [SETTINGS] City Manager 2078 Holotape City Managers 2078 Holotape Vault-Tec Tools Holotape
No mention of the maintenance holotape at all. What EXACTLY is the holotape called in the City Desk is it just the same as the filename?
Mod is NOT loading might be a problem with Vortex.
Vortex does/did have some problems recently, where it didn't properly enable mods. Make sure AMS.esl is really actually really really enabled. Potentially restart Vortex after installing and then check again.
It should be called [SETTINGS] ASAM Maintenance Software in the desk.
