Hey guys, lets see some of your screenshots of the old hound dog traveling the Commonwealth. --------- Attention: People experiencing CTD's when trying to enter Red Rocket to get Rex, or even if you haven't had crashes but are using Rex's default textures from version 2.0 I very strongly recommend updating to version 2.5. One of the textures on Rex's default skin from 2.0 is corrupted and is likely what is causing the CTD's.
For the few that are experiencing missing textures on Dogmeat (pink shiny Dogmeat) or the Rex model remaining after uninstallation you may need to manually uninstall to fully remove the files and revert Dogmeat to his fully vanilla form. Not sure if its a mod manager bug or what as I haven't been able to duplicate the problem on my end. Anyway manual uninstall instructions:
Navigate to your Fallout 4 Data folder and within it navigate to:
Meshes\Actors\Dogmeat\CharacterAssets\Dogmeat.nif (delete the Dogmeat.nif) Textures\Project Cyberdog (delete the entire Project Cyberdog folder) Materials\Project Cyberdog (again delete the entire Project Cyberdog folder)
As a direct replacer this mod has no .esp\.esl so no need to look for one. Deleting those files will remove all meshes\textures\materials associated with the mod.
Just realized I never linked these. Made another Cyberdog Rex model that is closer in look to his actual design New Vegas. This one is also a Dogmeat replacer. Link
Your mod is great! It just dawned on me that an ORDINARY DOG made of flesh and blood could not survive where a piece of meat without radiation is valued more than human life!
Man, I forgot this mod existed. So glad I searched "Replacer". I immediately installed it after download and, DAMN, you did a kick-ass job. I usually use the Sable retex, and this gives me the best of both worlds. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about whether I was going to dig it. You shattered that skepticism. Thanks.
Nice work, I especially like the new brain case as well and I am using the Police K9 version. Dogmeat is more like a police dog than a military dog. Military for this genre would want a robot dog or MAYBE dogmeat in dog power armor over a cyborg. I like nightstalker dogmeat texture too!

This 100% explains why Dogmeat is so smart and goes around helping people - He's a pre-war Police Dog.
