I've seen other mods that have sentry bots or assaultrons by default but when you look at the character backstory that Bethesda foisted upon us for this game they have a mister handy already in Codsworth. Makes more sense to me that they would have a better understanding of those than of protectrons.
Stumbled across the mod the other day while looking for something else entirely. I'm glad I did. I was pretty fed up with having to use up resources to build a Protectron then having to modify it to get the robot I was after to start with. When I was done I ended up with a pile of Protectron parts I would never use. Talk about annoying.
So, thank you very much for fixing one of the major flaws in Automatron. Endorsed!
Thanks :) I was getting annoyed with stockpiling Protectron arms every time I built a new 'bot. The building cost is unchanged, though that could be adjusted too along with whatever other tweaks come along.
I agree, a change should be in order. Here's a question for you.. By default, a new Automatron 'bot has a cost of 11 aluminum, 9 ceramic, 6 circuitry, 8 adhesive, and 6 rubber.
Using the recipe cost alone for a Handy torso and thruster gives a cost of 3 ceramic, 2 adhesive, 5 rubber, and 4 steel.
Personally, building a new 'bot without circuitry seems off to me, so I'm thinking 2-4 circuitry would still be appropriate in addition to this. Thoughts?
