Hello guys! I would just like to update you on a few things. First, I stopped making mods for Fallout 4, don't worry I will not take my files down, they will stay here forever, so you are always free to use them.
The main reason I am doing this, I want to commit my free time (it's pretty limited) , to developing my own video game. That might take me 5, 6, 7 years, however long, even if it doesn't get completed, I'm completely fine with that. I just want to learn everything that goes into making one.
Why I'm doing this? Well, while modding Fallout 4, I've discovered quite a few flaws in the engine, or better said, limitations that limited my ideas. I don't want that, I want to be free to make whatever I want, and starting fresh, with a blank slate gives me just that.
I had big plans for modding this game, but while I was getting more and more into it, I just decided it was enough.
I will probably document my development process on a blog, or maybe even a vlog, when that happens I'll share a link here so you guys can follow along :)
Thank you for sharing. I'm at level 30 and have now seen the NV in the game for the first time. It's a good thing it's available so late.
However, I saw the effect, but the device was invisible. The reason is, that armor has slot 17 (glasses) occupied, but armor addon has slot 16 (headband). I added slot 17 and the model appeared. Maybe the author would like to fix this.
It would be desirable to have a narrower field of vision when using them, since they are not glasses. I don't know whether this is technically feasible or whether the author can implement it.
PS: unfortunately the NV only has cosmetic effects and there is no practical use. Dark is still dark and wearing the NV during the day or in bright moonlight doesn't make sense. The NV would be practical if the darker surrounding area was clearly illuminated after it was put on - which in turn means that it cannot be used in daylight. Which is also the point of a NV.
I'm uninstalling again, it's a shame, I thought the idea was good.
PPS: I use NAC-X with ENB - maybe that's the problem, but I don't believe it.
For whatever reason the goggles are invisible for me. Installed with Vortex, checked the folder structure and they are pretty much at the end of my load order. The world model is fine, but when equipped they are invisible. Im not really sure what else I can try, has anyone else encountered this?
Fixed. Armor and Armor Addon must be modified by adding 47-Eyes entry along with 46-Headband. Also, inside Armor entry add ArmorBodyPartHead [KYWD:0010C418] in KWDA record. Finally, inside Armor Addon there's an extra record that must be added under male and female world model, the value is "01" on the last entry MO2F-Unknown. I'm guessing this problem must be something about the recently game update.
P.S. One point of order is I would assign these to a Glasses slot instead of Headware slot, so people can wear hats/helmets with this outfit; for the next update please.
Hey, I've just downloaded your mod and replying to this comment a year later. I too am looking for an OFF/ON function. Can this be combined with "Toggleable Nightvision" since that uses the MCM menu you can just set a hotkey to it then.
P.S. If there is an off/on function will it have the lenses flipped up during the OFF phase?
also one simple way to do it is to create 2 night vision goggles, one with the effect and one without, then hotkey them both, to toggle between on and off
with this you could also change the armor addon of the NVG off that's either empty or create a new mesh with the goggles flipped up.
there's a bug that when other NPCs wear the goggles, you still get night vision. in the middle of boston i suddenly got night vision out of nowhere because it turns out there was a gunner wearing night vision nearby, the green effect vanished when i found and killed him, this can be easily fixed by adding a Condition on the Enchantment, just add GetIsId Player == 1 on the night vision enchantment and that should fix the bug.
I dunno why but this mod is buggy to me, everytime i got near someone firing a gamma gun everything suddenly changes to a night vision im not even wearing one. Not only gamma guns but sometimes it randomly happens like when im near the forged factory or something
