Just a note--Campsite and Horizon will work 100% fine together without this patch! I only made it for balance reasons, but this is my own personal preference of course. I'm sure you can play horizon using campsite without this patch and have a good experience using both mods!

The camo recipes require a little extra skill. This is just for fun and flavour. I figure they'd be the best ones to build to hide yourself when sleeping...even though they don't actually do anything different!

    Hope you like it!

It looks like the upcoming Horizon patch is going to have a new feature where if you die you wont have to reload. To me--this is perfect! The campsite mod wont seem overpowered since you can techinallly play an entire game without reloading. It will still be useful to have the tents and sleeping bags as a way to save your game so i'll probably just keep things as is.

Hey man. Great work. Quick question tho, does this patch need updating to the latest Horizon? Some of the materials needed are (Outdated) in game. I've seen a few others commenting with same problem. Any chance you could take a look? Cheers in advance

Hey, first thank you for your work.
I changed the crafting material for the tents and fire kits, because the packaging material and Liquid fuel changed with the new horizon version.

But i get constant ctd's while browsing the survival gear menu in the techlab now.

Does this still work with Horizon? Saw some users reporting problems below?

I use the campsite/no go bags version and they are not in the Techlab. The only parts I find are in settlement mode.

Hey Rick, I asked in the Campsite page but since you are knowledgeable in patching, do you know how I would increase the brightness of the oil lamps and campfire? My nighttime is pretty dark, so the light sources from this mod isn't really doing much.

Hmm i dunno! I can open it up and look... but i really dont know too much into the details of all these mods, i sort of just tweak things and add a couple of things...
I mean, i will open it up and look, but if its anything that requires even the slightest bit of modding knowledge i will probably be totally lost, lol...

Ha no worries! I just started digging into xedit myself. I changed the radius field in light but that did nothing.

Sorry to bother you again, but in the tech lab when I scroll through the survival gear options, I occasionally get a CTD. Not sure if there is a mesh that is causing it.

Where do I craft the sleeping bags and go bags? They're not in the chem station.

am i missing something or does the "survival skills" requirement sound a little too steep for a simple tent?
i just installed your patch an generally like the balance changes you made but im 18h into my current survival playthrough and im at survival skill rank 2 and all i can craft are the cloth walls and folding chairs.. whats the point of running around with the accessories?
then again, the double sleeping bag tent is survival skills 8? for 4 sticks and a cloth drape? did i take a wrong turn somewhere and messed up something or is that actually correct?

if it is i find it pretty awkward that being able to set up a simple tent, which would be the most useful early on in a survival playthrough, would require you to have found 8 survival mags until your camp actually has a meaning aside from crafting your survival toolkit additions.

totally possible i messed something up or overlooked something in general, asking mainly for clarification.

The campsite mod doesnt really add a lot of useful stuff, the only things that really do anything are the pot and beds...so ya, unlocking just the walls and chair is really pointless if its all you can do, i just did it for fun. Even the pot isnt overly useful, which is why i added the chems to it. Everything is locked out in stages, again, just for fun.

The mod didnt really need a patch, everything works fine without it. And, since this was my first patch i ever uploaded, it made sense to patch something that wouldnt have a huge impact on gameplay. I didnt expect so many downloads, but im glad people like using it!

The reason i made this was for myself, and It was made before the death revival feature of horizon. I knew saving at anytime was pretty useful..so i locked the beds out until later just so when i did get to the “save anywhere feature” i wouldnt feel guilty using it.

Once the death feature came i added in the other features just to give campsite more of a purpose because like i said before, campsite doesnt add too much..

Its all really just my personal preferences and its just for fun. I dont patch things so they “make sense”...I just like progression and i like giving horizons magazines more of a purpose too...this entire patch sort of evolved over time.
There’s no right way to patch campsite because it doesnt need a patch, unlike armors that have set rules.

I would have loved to have other options for downloads....Like making the items perk based, or removing requirements completely...but ive uploaded too many files to manage multiple versions and i dont really have the time for it anymore...

under those conditions i totally get where you're coming from, either way you did great ground work with this patch and its easy enough to tweak the rest to my liking.

thanks for clarifying and for the good work :)

Wait, why can't we place some tents down during settlement building mode? Is that suppose to happen or do you need to have enough skills to do this?

      YEHEY!

For a moment there, I thought you need some skills before you can place them in. Kind of needed them for my playthrough and Boston Airport Minutemen Outpost. Hope you can resolve this - at your own pace!

Hermmm...well they SHOULD be working now. I know what i did, i accidently redirected the workshop crafting menus elsewhere...they all have WS in their name so they are clearly marked...but i didnt notice...
I copied the original workshop recipes back into the appropriate items, so it should be ok now.

Since I love all your other addons and patches to Horizon I guess I will try this one too. I just wonder (I dont get the desc. a 100% so that is why I am asking) is the whole mod functional with just a tent/bedroll/campfire or whatever it is called or will I need one of those backpacks on my character too?
The bags looks cool, but some of them looks pretty much like some ones from other armor mods etc. So I am considering to just use the patch without the survivalist bags, but I don't want to miss out on functionality.

The backpacks arent needed, they are completely separate. So ya, use the no go bags version. I added them to this because there is so many backpacks and i thought that sorting them using fading signals camping book would work well.
This was back when i first started patching and i didnt think of making own version of a sorting item back then..but im still happy i included them with the tents, it fits the theme well..
What i originally intended was to also include the commonwealth survivalist mod with this. It adds lots of cool survival type outdoorsy clothes... ....But like a dummy i wasnt thinking and i uploaded it to my many armor patches page and so i just left it there...hahhah...

Well I got the one without backpacks, gotta stop this "armor/outfit-downloading but never actually use it in game-mania" ;D I crafte like half of the items like a folded chair, fire pit, a cooking pot etc, do I need them all to do anything or only one or is it like bonuses with having more than one?

Edit: Wow man sorry I totally forgot there is a page for the original mod that can explain it, I realised like 30 seconds after posting this haha, been working to many hours today - can't think straight :D haha

Lol no worries! Ya...i hear you on installing too much. Stuff has to be in level lists like you were saying before with eli and clothing of the commonwealth so at least you feel like it has a purpose..
I’ll probably add the bags to vendors one day so at least they can show up in game
