About this mod
This mod simply disables the quick loot menu that appears when you mouse over a container.
- Permissions and credits
You will find that plenty of people enjoy the new quick loot feature that Bethesda implemented which makes it simple to let you "grab and go" loot from a container or dead body, and for them its a great feature if you can't be bothered to waste time slowly picking through multiple bodies for loot.
However, for a smaller minority like me, this sorta takes away the feeling that you get when you open up a container and be surprised by what you find inside, or that realization that there's often little thought into what you pick up, that you simply walk over a body, press E a few times and move on, not truly aware of what you've picked up. Or maybe there's another reason I'm not aware of, but in any case, a search didn't produce any mod that would allow me to do this, so I made my own.
Instructions
Simply install through NMM or manually if you prefer.
My initial release stated that DEF_HUD was required for this mod to work. This is no longer the case.
Known Issues & Notes
1. Known Issues: None
So far, everything is working like it should, aside from the notes below. If you encounter a situation where "E) Search" comes up where it really shouldn't, go ahead and post a bug report with as much detail as possible, such as what this container was, where it was, and whether you had your weapon out or not.
2. Grabbing Bodies.
The only quirk that comes out of this mod is that you can't grab and drag dead bodies around with the Search Option enabled, so during installation of this mod, you have a choice of a plug-in that features a condition that disables the new "E) Search" (and have the quick loot menu appear) if you have your weapon holstered and you're looking at a dead body, so the default options will come up where you're able to drag bodies around if desired.
3. Compatibility
Any mod that adds additional activation choices when concerning containers or dead actors will likely override my Search command like Locksmith. Mods like these are completely incompatible with this, as multiple activation choices with the similar conditions won't play nicely together if one or more of them are assigned as "replace default" choices (which is what this mod does).
Evidently, the Vanilla Perk "Cannibal" also conflicts in this same way. So it is advised to either not invest into the perk, or find a mod that overhauls the perk to provide benefits in other ways than eating directly off the corpse.
