Bitter Cold Commonwealth
Your son has been taken and your wife murdered right before your helpless eyes.  The world you once knew is no more.
The Commonwealth is a harsh and unforgiving land and the atmosphere should reflect that.
Inspired by the Pathos ENB, I present the Bitter Cold Commonwealth Reshade Preset.
I set out with one goal with this reshade, to make it stylistically cold.
The colors have been desaturated but more appealing.
The lighting is stronger but more ominous.
Even on bright and sunny days there is a dreadful feeling that won't leave the back of your mind
and in overcast weather there will be seemingly no hope in this God forsaken land.

Feature by Gundam (shows more overcast weather)

Updates

Version 1.1: Fixed the install issue with reshade.  Please try this version if you were having issues.

Installation

Note: If you do not want to download the ENB DOF effect then there is a version available for you.

Before you start, please uninstall any enb or reshades previously installed
and delete your enbseries and reshade shaders folders.

Please install the newest version of the ENB here, unzip the file and copy and paste ONLY the d3d11.dll and the d3dcompiler into your fallout 4 main directory

1. Install Vivid Weathers (this mod is not compatible with true storms but you are free to try it if you like)
I use the All Seasons option.  It's very important that you select the vanilla brightness option.  DO NOT choose the option that increases the brightness.

2. Download the Bitter Cold Commonwealth complete or no DOF version

3. In the zip file, open the reshade 3.0.8 installer, click select game and select your Fallout 4 exe, click on the
Direct 3D 10+ and then download all the effects that come with reshade.

4. Drag and Drop EVERYTHING (excluding the reshade setup) from the zip into your Fallout 4 main directory and overwrite all files.

5. Open the game and you should see two messages at the top of your screen.  One for reshade and one for ENB.  If these both pop up then you did it right.

6. Press Shift+F2 and you'll see the reshade overlay pop up.  Click continue and then click on the + sign that is at the top right of the overlay and type "Reshade" without the quotation marks and press enter.  This will activate the reshade. DO NOT ADD OR SUBTRACT EFFECTS.

7. (VERY IMPORTANT) In the reshade overlay (Shift+F2) press continue until the effects are listed and find the effect named "Depth Haze".  To the right of the effect name you'll see the toggle option.  Click on this and choose your toggle key.  This effect adds a fog effect in the distance but for some reason when you are in the workshop or in power armor then the screen gets extremely blurry.  I suggest toggling off that effect when needed or you can completely turn off the effect all together.  The effect doesn't make much difference during sunny days but in sunsets, sunrise, and most other weather effects it will make a larger difference.  The great thing about PC gaming are the options, so please choose whichever suits you.

9.  If you want to, please re-edit the enblocal.ini to your preferences.  I.E. memory, vsync, fps limit, etc.

10. Good hunting, stalker.
If you got that reference, I love you.

side note: In the Reshade overlay (Shift+F2) you can toggle the reshade by going to the settings tab and choosing your effects toggle key

DOF Side Note: the ENB DOF is a center based DOF and can be toggled via the delete key.

Settings: I have everything on Ultra but the most important setting is to have God Rays set to ultra because they help desaturate the colors as well.
If you are concerned about God Rays causing a performance impact, then download Ultra Quality God Rays Performance Fix.

Uninstall
Just delete all the dxgi and d3d11, reshade shaders folder, and enb series folders in your fallout 4 main directory

Performance
In all of my reshades I try to make them as light as possible while maintaining high visual fidelity.
This is not easy to achieve and many sacrifices were made.
Expect a max drop of 15 fps with an average drop of 10 fps.
Results will vary based on specs and mods.  Do not ask me if it will run on your rig.

Suggested Mods
-Vivid (weathers, rocks, landscape, trees, roads and bridges)
-Pip-Boy Flashlight
-Enhanced Lights and Fx (drastically improves interior lighting)
-Water Enhanced
-Immersive HUD
-Darker Nights (This reshade makes the nights brighter so the best way to counter is to use this mod)

Required Mods
-Vivid Weathers

I specifically chose vivid weather over true storms.  You are free to try true storms or use the
Weather Synergy Patch if you want both but results will vary.
