I'm curious about the "Alternative DirtGravel" optional file. Says it's in vanilla "stile" (misspelled - change i to y), but I'm not quite sure what that entails. Does it change the mod so dirt in vanilla is still seen as dirt with the mod? Example would be outside the Sanctuary Red Rocket garage. When placing a water pump, spots that the game considers dirt look more like rock with the mod.
I'm also curious about why the concrete stairs in the pictures were changed to a brick style. It looks good, don't get me wrong, it just seems odd to me to change it to a different building material entirely.
Have I misunderstood the original intent behind this mod? Should I try a different texture mod instead?
The Alternative DirtGravel changes the grounds sorrounding rocks and roads back to look like original, though vividified;) Difference visible here beneath the rocks: Vivid Landscapes Gravel Vanilla Gravel Many disliked the rocky, almost lava like texture I made so I offered this alternative.
Oh the brick/tile stairs... lol a much discussed artistic choice I made... concrete everywhere is so dull, especially on the promenade;) However, it seams to bother so many that I'm going to offer an alternative for it as well. I planned to update the mod anyways, so it's not much of a deal.
Thanks for pointing out flaws in description and imaging, nice to get some resonance about it As an author somethimes you can't see the forest for the trees... lol
...and these alternatives can simply be installed with/after the main files?
Glad to see you're open to the many opinions people have about your mod(s). Shows that you have good character!
I've always been a very honest person ever since I was little. Some times it can sting, but it tends to help in the end more than it hinders at the start.
Thanks for the reply and can't wait to see what cool new stuff you publish/create/whatever it's called here!
should I use this mod with the high resolution texture pack? I am new to modding fallout 4 and trying to figure out which to use. Im assuming I should uninstall the hrtp and use mods like this instead? If anybody can let me know that would be awesome! thanks
Yes do not use Fallout 4s DLC HRTP as it does not do anything you would think it does. it only adds more reasons to crash as it loads thing odd and makes fallout very unstable. use texture packs from nexus but do not go overboard with them as not all of the packs are compatible with each other.
Yes, Id have to agree with you @Hein84, because this is my first time modding FO4 and when loading into the game with the HD DLC I thought I was going insane because surely something as large as 30+ GB would make the game look even slightly different. But to my untrained eyes I didn't notice a single improvement so ive uninstalled and sticking to texture packs like yours which actually make a difference lol!
Thank you for this god tier mod but I have an issue. I'm using Vortex and and disabled this to try out a New Vegas playthrough with Desperados overhaul but your landscape textures are still underneath and affecting the rocks. Do i need to fully uninstall them? I've also purged my LO back to default game directory and re-deployed. Still happening. Any help you would be amazing. So weird since i've been uninstalling and re-installing your textures for years now fixing my LO with no issue. Desperados is my ONLY Landscape texture mod if that helps
You can force it to load by adding the BA2 to your Fallout4.ini (located in C:\Users\*Username*\Documents\My Games\Fallout4). under: [Archive] sResourceIndexFileList= add as last line: VividFallout AiO *Whatever you chose* Textures.ba2.
Hello! Wonderful mod! I am running into a singular bizarre thing. The green/blue metal found around the city just feels like it's not as detailed as other textures. Maybe I am insane, but it just is a bit stand-out to me. I played with load order, even put this as one of the final mods to ensure nothing is overriding it, but it still is occurring. I am playing with the 4k texture packs, my gpu is a 4070 12GB, and I am only hitting about 50% capacity with a bunch of mods, so I don't think it's the VRAM slipping.
Any ideas, or am I just being weird and the visuals are as intended? https://imgur.com/a/5ZHOIAv
Actually it's one of the metalls I haven't altered, it's still original vanilla. However, it is a nice reminder to do some more metal parts for next update
Hello, can I use this mod as a LOD texture for FO4LODGen? I've already installed it, but I started following the F04 LODGen guide and I don't know if it will conflict with this mod, as the guide suggests installing Luxor's HD LOD as the LOD texture.
Downloaded the "Best Choice" along with "Best choice puddle remover" throught Vortex and I am now experiencing what seems to be randomly timed crashing.
Other mods installed are the F4SE, Unofficial Patch, High FPS physics fix, and NVIDIA Reflex Support.
Specs: Ryzen 5 5600x Titan XP 32gb 3200 ddr4 running on samsung 970 ssd
*I will try disabling the reflex support and see if it was causing an incompatibility issue.
Same. Did you turn off Weapon Debris completly in the Fallout4Prefs.ini ? I have the same mods installed (except the NVIDIA Reflex Support), so it has to be one of the other mods. Do you play with more than 60fps, by unlocking it ? But im glad, there is someone with the same issue.
I actually do not have weapon debris disabled, but I generally was crashing not while shooting anything, I believe I unlocked the fps by removing the fps limit or the forced vsync in the Fallout4Prefs.ini
Disabling the reflex mod may have fixed it as I have not crashed since but only played 30 minutes..
Playing on newest patch and installed Best Choice its working and all but is there a reason why I have to enable the mod after every fresh launch of the game?
Hard to tell why, though you can force it to load by adding the BA2 to your Fallout4.ini (located in C:\Users\*Username*\Documents\My Games\Fallout4). under: [Archive] sResourceIndexFileList= add as last line: VividFallout AiO *Whatever you chose* Textures.ba2.

Use my All im One with Complex Parallax enhancement:
Vivid Fallout - Landscapes - Complex Parallax Occlusion
Vivid Fallout - Rocks - Complex Parallax Occlusion
P.S.
If you don't like the added puddles just install my optional 'puddle remover' and they are gone.

It kills performance for very little visual improvement.

This are texture resources if you want to generate your own LOD's.
