I'm not getting that problem. Did you try both versions? I ask because in the bug reports it seems some mod manager gets them confused. Other than that you have a conflict or something else is causing the problem.
It seems to me that fLODFadeOutMultObjects/fLODFadeOutMultItems/fLODFadeOutMultActors set to a very high number (or 0) with the mod enabled causes low FPS. It's a combination of both. In my situation, FPS difference was 35 vs <8 so over x4 FPS difference.
@borederica, In my Fallout4Prefs.ini they are: fLODFadeOutMultActors=6.8000 fLODFadeOutMultItems=2.7000 fLODFadeOutMultObjects=10.4000
I've never touched them, though I guess it's possible they might change via game settings distances slider(?). Again, this mod (no shadows version) does not cause any such fps issue for me, so guess you're talking about compatibility or other tinkerings not to do with this mod?
If anyone's tempted to try this some day - setting time scale that high is a *great* way to get all the scripts running in the background of your game to crash and burn and generally become unstable. Don't ever do that on a save file you care about.
That said, load up a save file you DON'T care about and try it some time, it's pretty damn funny
Good point Spacefiddle. And whilst I highly recommend the no-shadows version of this mod, the same isn't true of the shadows version (of this or any other similar workshop light-boost mod) because they're all FPS killers - prob fine for the top 5 to 10% of systems & cards already maxing out every graphic setting, but not advised for mere mortals using the other 90% of PCs.
I've tried all the workshop lighting mods on this site (and all the various versions in each one), and settled on the no-shadows version of this mod. The others were all either too bright and/or harsh (even supposed "soft" ones), or too far-casting, or often a doubly problematic combination thereof. The no-shadows version of this mod, imho, gets the balance right. Of course, tastes differ, and note I don't use any ENB nor any other lighting/FX mods (except the no godrays mod). Anyways, thanks, endorsed.
This mod is great! It's nice to be able to approach a settlement and see the spotlights reaching really far out into the dark, and that lens-flare can't be beat. Everything looks far more realistic. I know some people have reported frame rate drops, but I'm using the no-shadow version in and I'm having zero problems
Has anyone had conflicts with the homemaker mod? ( http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1478/? )
This mod is nerfing all the extra lighting options in Homemaker on my computer. Homemaker is an ESM so I can't put it lower in the load order than this mod.
I've experience no FPS impact and the lighting now looks incredible, at least for me this has to be one of my favourite mods for night time settlement activities.

Without mod: 68-72 fps
With mod: 40-44 fps
fLODFadeOutMultActors=6.8000

This is actually good if yer trying to build at night.
