I'm running the mod Better Atom Cats Garage, https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/14764, that overhauls the interior garage part of the Red Rocket. Curious if this and your mod would conflict?

If both mods make changes to the same cells, they will conflict. Which ever one is loaded after the other will take precedence.

So, I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but this makes Johnny D and Rowdy start out doing nothing but standing in the far-corner, near the "finish line", with Johnny always having a "this character is busy" message when I try to talk to him; however, he starts acting normally if something hostile is around and is then normal after its killed. Rowdy moves back to her normal position in the garage after I talk to her.

Just installed this and it crashed my game.
Found out that your esp file is looking for the nuka world dlc . . .
How about some warning on the main page next time. Right now you have nothing no where stating it needs Nuka

Any way you could upload a version that's a transfer settlements blueprint instead of a plugin?

Downloaded & Installed. It's interesting but...

Would you sleep on a bed with a pile of junk under it??

These guys are settled, they got commerce and defenses set up and they can't be bothered to take a broom a clean a little?
The garage can be filled with junk for all i care but the living quarters... Man, it's even filthier then the abandonned RR near sanctuary...

That's your prerogative, it's your mod... just sayin'

Here's a bit of reasoning behind why I have trash, well, everywhere.
My first reason is that I wanted to stick with the in-game styles of fallout 4. Generally speaking, with the exception of the institute, fallout 4 is horrendously dirty. Look at diamond city for example, a living breathing city with some infrastructure and yet there is still trash crowding the roads, such is the aesthetic of the game. In my mods I try not to deviate from Fallout 4's established aesthetic and part of that means trash everywhere, c'est la vie.

I think that's a decent out of world explanation, but I have a couple others that fit within the story and lore of fallout 4.

Now onto my second reason, people. You mentioned the abandoned RR near sanctuary being cleaner than this mod. To me, that makes sense and that's how it should be. People consume and as part of that, leave waste. abandoned places like the sanctuary RR have been void of people for many years and as such has been void of their waste. That being said, in these areas you'd expect more natural overgrowth, but a general lack of trash should suffice. A brilliant example of the flip-side of this is again, diamond city. Unlike the sanctuary RR, people have been continuously living here for many years and as such, have been producing waste for just as many years. Unlike modern societies which have systems and people dedicated to the goal of waste removal, diamond city has no indication of such systems and is left to accumulate waste without impediment.

So, where does that leave the Atom Cats Garage? well, for one, it's literally in an old junkyard, discarded waste is already present. Second, as you have mentioned, they seemed to have been there for quite a few years and have had to chance to build up defenses and as people do, make waste. However, all is not lost as they actually have taken up the broom and dustpan in some areas! Take for instance the newly redesigned Power armor workshop in the RR, the actual garage is clean as a bristle, hell even the floor has a reflective glow. Their main eating area is also rather clean for wasteland standards, bar the occasional loose paper and what-not. So, why these areas and not others? As we know, the Atom cats really dig their armor and poetry, because of this love, I believe they would give special care to the areas critical to these pass-times possibly leaving other less important areas, eg, living quarters, neglected. Now, practically, they probably would have some time in their busy day to whip out a dustpan and remove some of the trash littered around them, but as I mentioned, the aesthetic styling of the wastes call for trash, and lots of it. This combined with their living situation and priorities have resulted in the mess before you.

Anyways, sorry about the wall o' text. I've been taking a bit of a break and have only been able to return to the nexus recently, hence the impromptu rant well over a month since your post. Also, if you made it this far, thanks for reading my pointless drivel

As true as all that may be, you've made it many times dirtier than the original!. I un-installed the mod after "moving in" because the loft I was given had a HUGE pile of trash that is not there in the vanilla version. Plus, Yes, Diamond City is dirty, but at least you can clean it up (if you have the appropriate Scrapping Mods), whereas yours is horribly filthy forever. That said, other than the un-removeable trash, it is cool. Lots of thought, and effort made it look lived in and usable.
A little side note ; If you really think about it, these games are centered on "providing the PC with what they need to do their job". The trash is one of my Biggest sources of resources, because I have 6 different scrapping mods, and trash is never marked as being "owned", even in Diamond City. So, if you made it so that the trash could be cleaned up, that would make this mod REALLY cool!!! Just a thought. Thanks.

Ah, the guy from Nukatown Market Reborn. I'm glad you've made another mod dude.

Technically, the plugin is as clean as possible without deleted navmeshes and with new precombined meshes. That's how it's done.
And your creativity is amazing. You know how to bring life into a static scenery.

The performance is ok given by the huge amount of new references you've added. I get 50 - 60 fps just like you. The CPU is the bottleneck here.

If a user uses more that 1 mod that affects the same area chances are high that the the PreVis system shuts down which will result in a stutter fest. Personally, I wouldn't care much about compatibility with other mods because we don't have the tools yet to make precombined meshes for more than 1 plugin at the same time.

Edit: I would recommend to put this mod far down in the load order or the PreVis data could be overwritten by other mods which leads to stuttering and disappearing objects.

Yay! Good to hear that I did the cleaning correctly.
Also, about compatibility, I was thinking of just removing items that are in the way of other mod's items, for example, making a version that removes some clutter out back so that the workshop by "RR settlements" isn't clipping with anything. Of course, as you mentioned, I can't really do anything about the precombines for multiple plugins. However, I think I might be able to make some smaller edits to my plugin make things work better with other mods.

Anyways, thanks for the great feedback as always ablaze!

I like the idea of this mod and all but, when I clicked on it, I was hoping for just one small thing extra and was hoping to offer it up as a suggestion/request?

When you save the Atom Cats, Zeke says "You now have full reign of our digs..." which, when it comes down to it, means that you can now pick up some of the clutter (but not all) without stealing and get to go/do....well....pretty much everything you could do before you even went to warwick.

In my mind, "full reign" = "You can now use the workshop at Atom Cats Garage" where you, as the newest Atom Cat, can have full reign over improving their defenses, bringing in settlers (who can get issued greaser jackets, sunglasses, pompador wigs, and maybe even Atom Cats-painted power armor) and giving the Gunners a *real* gang to contend with?

Just a thought. Gonna check out your makover as it is because that, alone, seems pretty cool.

      Thanks for the input/suggestion!
my main aim for this mod was mostly to focus on the aesthetic side of things and less on adding new functionality such as a settlement workshop. Personally, I would find it somewhat odd if you were allowed full privilege to modify and recruit new Atom cats as their newest recruit. However, I do agree that items should no longer be counted as stealing if taken, I might go through and change that to what you suggested.
Also, I haven't looked too much into it, but the mod "Atom Cats RULE" by Crantara may offer what you seek. Also, I think there are a few mods floating around that let you place a workshop down wherever you like. However, I'm not too sure how many of them are compatible with this mod.

Anyways, thanks for the feedback and being a cool cat!

There's also Red Rocket Settlements, which makes all the RRs across the 'Wealth, and Far Harbor into settlements, which includes the Atom Cats' Garage.
I've currently got all three installed, but there's too much conflict, so I'll have to make some choices. d:

Hey, if there's anything major you see in my mod that may help with compatibility, toss out an idea and I'll see what I can do

The biggest issues are just framerate (I'm dipping into the 20s d: ) and the mods affecting the same areas, causing a lot of overlapping objects. Looking at it, now, I'm actually running:
Better Atom Cats Garage (adds the mural painting and a lot of stuff to the garage itself)
Atom Cats Rule (which mostly adds settlement functionality, but requires a new character and so isn't working quite right so I'll need to remove it for now)
      RR Settlements
      Atom Cats Garage Reborn

I'll need to look at each of them individually and see what ads what. As per compatibility; I think a version that doesn't change the actual garage space (where Rowdy hangs out) would be sufficient to let it work with Better Atom Cats Garage. That's also where ACR puts its workbench. RR Settlements puts the workshop in the back of the RR station, where there are some barrels that clip into it at the moment, but I'm not sure which mod the barrels are from, yet. But, ye, I'll do some research and see what's doing what.

Ultimately, one should not be installing 4 different overhauls for the same location.

hmm, the low FPS has me worried. In my own testing with the mod I tend to hover around mid 50s to low 60s, however, if you find out the FPS drop is due to this mod please notify me so I can look at the optimization again.

I think it should be easy enough to create a version that doesn't edit the garage in RR so hopefully a compatibility version can be made soon. As for the barrels, do you mean that the barrels are in one of the rooms of RR or are in the outside in the back of RR? I don't think I added any barrels inside, however, I did modify one of the barrel clusters out back. Either way, if the barrel problem is from my mod just tell me which barrels they are and I'll get to modifying that.

      Thanks for the feedback!

They're out back, next to the fusion reactor.

I'm not sure what can be done about the performance. The Nuka Town market was the same way. Very detailed, and a helluva shootout against the raiders, but just too much for my machine to handle. I suspect you're just aiming at much better hardware than I have available.
