It's been brought to my attention that the Good Old Cartoons mod is the culprit responsible for a huge amount of issues that users seem to have when using VotW, specifically screwing up the formID's of other VotW compatible mods & messing up playback. No one wants that. We long dropped support for GOC due to it being a pain in the ass. As a result, I've made the decision to simply nuke (hide) GOC from orbit, until it's completely rebuilt from scratch. No ETA when (or if) that will happen, so don't get your hopes up.
Maybe i am missing something, I got the movie theater and projection screen working fine, but i cannot get the radiation queen to i guess connect to the TV and play the tapes on the TV
That's odd, the TV's are usually the least problematic thing to get going. The only thing that comes to mind is that you might be trying to run two concurrent video displays in your settlement which to my knowledge doesn't work. That or you may need to run the repair function in MCM.
Anyone figure out how to make holotapes that can't load into the projector or regular player work? So many of the classic cartoons and superman episodes are unplayable.
The cartoons and superman holotapes worked perfectly for me. Maybe you need to reload the mods? I have also heard of a bug where the holotapes wont play if you installed them all at once. You might have to uninstall them then install one at a time. Ex: install mod, enter game, save, quit, repeat.
Can you add some kind modification to the starlight drive in projector so that we can play holotapes on that? Maybe make a craftable machine to convert it? I would love to be able to watch night of the living dead on that huge screen! Other than that the mod is great, thank you!!
Starlight Drive-In addon doesn't work for me either, I suspect something has to do with the Scrap Everything mod since it allows the giant screen to be recycled. To be precise I installed the mod on my current save and I didn't try on a fresh new save. VOTW is enabled since it appears in MCM.
Edit: I found a solution (I am using Vortex and MCM)
1. Uninstall of VOTW (don't forget to use the uninstall button inside MCM menu when the game is running before uninstalling with Vortex) 2. Reinstall VOTW with Vortex (you will get the regular installer) but DO NOT check any addon (Starlight Drive-in or Theater) 3. Go to the nexus VOTW mod page, scroll to optional files 4. Install the addon "Starlight Drive-In Module" using Vortex 5. Make sure the mods load in the following order : 1. VOTW Master 2. VOTW SPECIAL Videos 3. VOTW Addons 6. Load your latest save and voilà, you should have movie reels inside the projector building at Starlight Drive-In if this worked
Hope it helps, this should work with manual installs too
I was finally able to complete the repair by first repairing which allowed the film to play with steel patches, then I selected a flap of steel remaining and entered "disable" in console. I attempted 4 times to get it to work without the hack- but screw it!
If anyone wants to share how to convert holotapes into films it would be appreciated.
I cannot. I only respond to include you are not alone. I have all DLC's and have the same issue despite selecting the DLC option during installation of this mod. Literally just figured it out. My issue is that I did not have the plugin enabled in my NNM:
I then had another issue of the tapes not playing! But again I figured it out :) Not sure how this worked but it did: I placed down a vanilla TV next to the mod TV and video player. I turned both TV's off and on which caused the mod TV to start playing the tapes. Hope this helps.
What do mean an outdated version of it? As fas as I can tell the most current version of VotW is 2.6. As for NMM, it still gets community updates which you can find at github.
