So I tried out your mod. The "hidden" door is actually a hatch on the ground at the base of the tower. Your description does NOT make it sound like that is the case. You could say something like "to find the door search all around the base of the tower carefully."
The tower itself is redundant since we cant go into it, why not just have it be some kind of bunker/shack disguised as a small radio broadcast facility? Those are literally all over the map and wouldn't look out of place at all. That way you could put the hatch inside and it would be easier to see.
The key we find could open the door. to the small building instead. Also you put down some round grass-covered mounds that clip oddly when you go around the base of the tower (See the picture I uploaded) The inside is nice but its dark and since it uses the vault tileset which most of us won't have access to unless we've completed the Vault-Tec quests its hard to light properly.
Please do not be discouraged. For a first mod I think this is a great effort and just needs a few tweaks and such. If nothing else you could clean up the hatch area so its easier to find and re-write the description so it more accurately points to the hatch itself and not have us hunting all around Sanctuary's perimeter looking for some "magic door" or something.
After reviewing your picture, I think that mound you mentioned is a conflict caused by the floral overhaul you seem to have installed.
Regarding finding the hatch, I've pulled it out so it's easier to see.
To light the vault like I have in the pictures, I used the basic string lights you get right away. The vault tileset is used because that way, once you've unlocked Vault Workshop, you can expand as you see fit.
The issue of the tower is one I won't be changing, sorry. It's just a personal preference of mine, and at this point I've actually moved onto a different mod and don't want to rework this one for aesthetics, ya know?
Got to the tower and was impressed with the size. The entry was definitely harder to find than usual. Also the information on the terminal made sense (for immmmmmmersion). Couldn't find the foremans skeleton though. Anyhow a great start!
