Defunct mod. I will not be making any more changes to this mod, as there are now a few mods out there that do what I could not, making cannibalism act as food. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/26034 https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31007 ...among others.
2021 calling with admiration for your mod :P I really really like your balancing and the supernatural art direction from Bethesda is just stupid as hell.
I think the ideal cannibalism mod should incorporate your ideas with the dark craving in a non-supernatural approach (realism dammit!). Dark craving shouldn't affect your hunger, but be a mental disorder as shown in the tv show Dexter. An itch that needs to be scratched to regain control and to clear the mind. When sated you have a small bonus, then gradually over time separate to hunger the itch grows and controls you giving the debuffs (Dark craving should have a gradual transition to ravenous similar to default hunger). Maybe less damage buffs, but damage resist would be higher. In a perfect world though when ravenous through normal food that would be when you get the melee damage boost. I have this problem IRL from trauma lol if it wasn't apparent.
Regardless I just really like the ideas in this mod and wanted to chime in that they really relate to one person's IRL experiences. Thank you!
You mod is by far the best bro... because you make Dark Craving worth having... the healing and visuals over the other mods were alright... but you made it worth getting.. yyou really did. This is the best cannibalisms mod, imo, when it comes to Concept. Your mod was literally the only mod that made this worth getting..
I'd rather just not have the Dark Craving thing at all. It is completely inane. I wanted to play Survival mode for the extra dose of realism, not some stupid mythical bullsh!t about cannibalism.
bit of a late reply but the idea behind this is pretty interesting, my only concern is 25% damage boost is pretty strong, i'm wondering if changing the value down to 10% but also giving 10% move speed would make it more realistic, since getting close to deaths door makes you use everything you have to get the food but doesnt turn you superhuman hulk
The boosts are just the same effects you get from Psycho and Fury, so I don't think they're unbalanced. Anyway, there's now a mod that gets rid of Dark Craving completely https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/15078/? which is what I use, now, so I won't be messing with this one any more.
Nice idea, thanks for the mod! I just found a problem and reported at at the bug section. Would be cool if you figure out how to reset the hunger timer.
Just logged in to upload a fixed version after noticing the same bug. Also, apparently I had the values wrong for some of the effects, so those are fixed now, too. Thanks for reporting!
You now what could be cool? That in survival mode food didn't respawn so this perk could have a real meaning. Food that "survive" 200 years is a thing, that there is still food after 200 years is another more difficult to believe. Also, it would incentivate farming and settler recruitment even if you don't want them.
