Hey all! I'm working on the snapping issue but it's taking me longer then expected, just wanted to give a heads up. So for the time being this file is probably gonna require place evrywhere to work properly. But I'll keep trying to get those snaps proper for ppl not running f4se and place everywhere.
In the near-decade I've been playing FO4, I never downloaded Place Anywhere... until I got this mod. Place overcomes the snap issue beautifully and it is WORTH it. The atmosphere these lights gives is awesome for Christmas but also to use in bars, hip lairs, and other places. I made sure to get the Place Anywhere for 1.10.163 (the version I've been playing forever) and both mods work fine.
Loves this. Couldn't care less about the darn xmas trees in the "official" CC content that has these. But no proper hippie beach shack without funny lights! Big Thank You.
I love these lights! but now that its totally messed up due to Place Everywhere being fudged, I can only set the christmas lights on the ground and nowhere above that. I'm also a super newbie to Fallout 4 and mods so can you recommend some building objects already in game or in mods I could download that I could actually attach these lights to?Currently they won't attach to anything higher than 6 inches off the ground. Thanks!
I don't know if you're still using this mod but try typing F1 and F2 it removes item snap and surface snap in workshop mode then you can place them anywhere.
I don't use Place Everywhere, but on PC you might be able to do it the old-fashioned FO3/FNV way of using console commands (getpos & setpos/modpos and getangle & setangle/modangle, for x, y and z axis) - I still do this sometimes even for objects I can place normally as I can't always get them quite right or anywhere near at all using the normal workshop way. Also, getscale and setscale often works but doesn't always show up properly until you move the object. Always make a save before starting though, and save frequently if using it to move several things, as it's all too easy it click on the wrong thing or something invisible covering it like a lighting effect etc. And sometimes you have to move around or crouch to find a clickable point on the object you're trying to change.
Ok , it June 2020 , this mod still works fine , not sure if it was fixed or people just be lazy , I've been running a test game to try out mods I might want to use in a play through ,well this is a play trough at this point as I planed to restart at level 30 and I'm at level 73 with 210 mods running , a fair number of them said to be broken in the comments , I have the newest update of the game and F4SE and its still playable at 45 to 60 fps even down town , honestly my biggest frame rate drop is in un-modded / vanilla area's , if its some place like Club Fusion or the tunnels of Subway Runner I'm at a solid 60 fps , so don't give up just because you can't get it to work on the first try , happy gaming guys :) I do use Place Everywhere btw
It's due to you misunderstanding it's a snap issue so folk were told to use Place Everywhere - which you do. But not everyone uses that, either mainly due to it's problems or some because of a few issues with F4SE (or because they're not on PC so can't use either).
Lights show up in the menu but without an icon. After crafting, there are no lights although material is subtracted from inventory. Can't see anything so can't place anything. Was last in my load order.

BTW this plugin can be esl-flagged without needing to be compacted, so you can do it even if you're already using the mod.
