    Heather v2.6 has been uploaded to Bethesda.net

    I cannot test the content myself so be sure to tell me if you are an xbox player if you come to report issues as they may be different than those experienced by players downloading from Nexus.

    After seeing the tv series, I decided to do yet another playthrough of the game (probably my 6th or 7th run).  I did a fresh install, have the DLC's, and played for several hours on the new install, then remembered what a great companion Heather was and downloaded the mod and installed through Nexus/Vortex.    I can't get Heather to show up in the game.  I'm wondering if it's because I added her AFTER I'd already been to Concord or?  No notifications, no marker on the map.   I went to the house she has the bunker at and there's no hatch on the floor.   I've played a few hours since adding the mod, hoping that eventually I'd get a notification, but nothing.  Vortex hasn't given me any indication that anything's wrong with the mod.   Not sure what I'm doing wrong this time around.   Not sure if it matters, but this time I'm running Fallout 4 VR and added the DLC files (dragged over from the GOTY edition)...

      Yes, but if you don't want to listen to them bicker you can turn it off in her terminal where her other settings are. Use the one in her bunker or build one in a settlement. It's in power/misc.

      @parolebaby - Heather has a legitimate problem with Piper who is not completely innocent and bickers right back at Heather. Why Heather feels the way she does is explained on the annotated article she gives you on hire.

    Hello I need to ask is the UFO crashsite bugged because I am right at the place but Heather won't react at all. She just stands there a little off and the quest part isn't reacting too.

    just wondering is this mod working ok with the new next gen update? I know a lot of mods are broken because the script extender needs to be fixed.

      Almost no mods that did work will work on the Bug-Gen update. Keep your game on 1.10, or revert if you accidentally updated.

    Playing on XBOX next gen and i've got the problem with "into the fog"
    it wont register that we're in Far Harbour, and using the terminal hasn't helped without having to skip the whole quest. I can get as far as taking her to the different locations, but there is no dialogue or checkpoint completion, and when sat by the sea, she has no dialogue option to proceed.

    similarly the tea quest wont close either

    is there any plans to update XBOX to 2.7 as well and hopefully fix this, as from what i can see its been resolved on PC
    favourite mod in my order and really dont want to miss out on it, thank you!

    on the storywealth collection. Have 4 hours in the game and the radio signal never works just static not sure whats going on but sucks as I really wanted to try this

      Look under the images for Heather's location and go there to meet her.

      Per the pinned comment above the radio not playing is only a problem if you get to her and can't hire her. The quest with her location will be running so you can tick it active in the pipboy and use the map to find her. Also you should let the storywealth people know about this. It's a list problem. One way around it is to not tick Heather active until you've entered the Commonwealth. Or it's a conflict with another mod.

    I really hope the new update, dropping later, doesn't break this mod.  I could live without any of the other mods I use (only about a dozen), but not this one.  Between Heather and Willow (F:NV) my Fallout adventure has been more interesting and enjoyable.

    Well, I just got this game off of GoG for 10 bucks. I have tried various ways to get mods working ... and you will be proud to know out of 5 mods..yours is the only one that has worked. I'm even using MO2! Cool companion!! I just met up with her and going exploring!

    I have a suggestion to make Heather more compatible with other mods.

    In my game, I noticed that Heather is teleported to me when I change locations, even though she is NOT currently in follow mode. I'm using Liga which is a fantastic companion framework that plays nicely with Heather.

    When I'm doing administrative work, I set my companions to wait or relax. When I change the location, for example walk outside the settlement or teleport to Home Plate, Heather is teleported to me. This only happens when she is currently sitting or using a workbench. It is done by script "llama_SMCLQuest" function "CheckLocation()". The trigger for this script is quest "llama_SMCL" which is started by the Story Manager. I found that in SM branch node "llamaCLBranchNode" there is no condition to check if Heather is actually in vanilla follow mode.

    So I added this condition:

    GetValue "FollowerState [AVIF:00000344]" equals 1 on reference "HeatherRef"

    Now she stays where she is supposed to.

      She shouldn't move to you unless she's following and she uses her own, unique variables to control when she's following, waiting or dismissed.

      Are you trying to manager her with Liga?

      Yes, I manage her with Liga and it is working just fine, except for above problem. The reason is exactly what you say, she uses her own variables and only those. Liga sets the vanilla "FollowerState" actor value with at least these values:

      1 = Follow
      2 = Wait
      8 = Guard
      9 = Sneak
      15 = Relax

      1 and 2 are vanilla states, as far as I know. The rest are Liga specific. That's why I added the condition for "FollowerState == 1" to the SM branch node.

      edit: Btw. a similar problem applies to the "ca_affinity" actor value, that is also not used by Heather. Mods that work with this value will not work with Heather. I already thought about modifying her actor script to update "ca_affinity" together with her own variable.

      If you manage her with Liga you'll break her functionality. She doesn't work like the vanillas do because she has a much more complex and varied setup. If you want her to work as intended don't use Liga on her.

      re: the av_affiinity variable
      I set isromantic when you max romantic affinity with her, but I do not set any other vanilla affinity variables with her. The easiest way to handle the issue is to just open the console, click on her and set whatever you need the variable to be although there is no guarantee it will produce the behavior you are looking for.

      Inigo's author used precise medical jargon when he said not to use an NCP framework manager on advanced companions with their own system:  You break their brains.  Hope that helps.

      Actually, that is not true. Heather works very well with Liga. All her quests, dialogue, comments and interactions are working fine. The only things I changed about her, were to:

      - add "CompanionPreventLimbDamage" perk to her, when this was still missing in the previous versions
      - change her workshop behavior, so she doesn't hug the workbench anymore when I do settlement building
      - manually set ca_affinity to 1100 after romancing her
      - fix above auto-teleport problem

      The only problem related to companion management (Liga) was the auto-teleport and that was easily fixed, once I understood where it came from. The reason why companion authors tell us not to use a companion framework is, that most players have no idea how to analyze and fix problems on their own, should they arise. So better safe than sorry is their motto. Unfortunately, that makes players miss out on a lot of comfort in companion management.

      If you had to "fix" things to make Liga do what you want with Heather then by definition she doesn't work with Liga by default and it does indeed break some of her functionality without additional work. I can't verify that what you've done will or will not work with all of her various other behaviors.
