    ANNOUNCEMENTS

Heather won File of the Month for April! Thanks to each of you that voted!

    1. Thank you, everyone for all of your endorsements, kudos and comments! Your support of Heather is inspirational <3

    2. Please keep posting pics of Heather to mod images! I'm loving them, however NSFW images will not be approved because Heather does not carry the "adult" tag.

    3. If you post a bug in the bug tab above please come back to see if I've posted a follow-up question. I usually need more details to figure out it it's a bug and if it is how to fix it. Thank you!
    ************************************************************************************************************

    FAQ

    1. Heather won't talk to me when I first approach her! Help!

    1) If there are any aggroed enemies nearby she won't engage in conversation. Kill everything that is trying to fight with you before you talk to her.

    2) If her esp isn't at the bottom of your load list put it there.

    3) If 1) or 2) don't fix it you can build Heather's cheat/debug terminal (found in Power > Misc) in any settlement and hire her that way. This should overcome most issues.

    4) if 3) doesn't solve the problem (you've hired her but her dialogue still isn't working correctly) then it's probably an installation problem. Delete and reinstall the mod with a clean save away from the area where you meet Heather. That should fix it.

    2. Heather refuses to follow correctly. Help!

    1)  I've heard that there are some Lovers Lab mods available that break her AI and stop her following correctly. I don't know any details, but if you are using some go there to find out more.

    2) If you are using another mod to change her appearance that may be causing the issue.

    3) If you've made a profile for her in Better Companions by techprince that will break her AI. You can have the mods together, but you can't use it on Heather. Same applies to Amazing Follower Tweaks.

    4) Make sure you've removed/deleted any files from previous versions out of your data folder. Old scripts can also stop her from following right from the beginning.

    5) If that's not the problem you can try commanding her to move or change her follow distance in dialogue

    6) if 5) doesn't work you can use her transponder to call her to your position. It has scripting on it that should fix anything gone wrong and get her following correctly again.

    7) If she still isn't following correctly and her esp isn't at the bottom of your list move it. You might try deleting the current install and reinstalling the mod as it could be faulty. Don't do a clean save to accomplish that. Literally just delete the mod and reinstall it.

    Hello :)
I enjoyed Willow for years, but it seems I was not keeping up to date on Fo4 mods, as i have only recently discovered Heather.
I KNOW she will be the best companion ever!
Pity we can only endorse it once :P

    Hey llamaRCA

Tried to send you a private message but it seems I can't.
I've been playing with Willow and Heather for years and love them both. Thank you very much.

From what I know there is no French translation available for Heather, so I made one myself. I mean all the written part only.
After hours of tests and adjustments I think this translation is now up to the quality of your work.

May I upload it here on the Nexus site?

I have an issue, I hope it hasn't been asked before, but her first quest (to get 20 mutated fern flowers) won't complete for me... I put them in her inventory or sell them to her, but it wont complete. Is there a chance I might have a mod conflict or something? Or am i doing something wrong
    Thank you

Simplest and quickest way to solve your problem is to build Heather's Console in a settlement using the work bench. It's in Power; Misc. Right by the Settlement Recruiting Beacon. You can also use Heather's computer in her Bunker.
Might try reloading a save from before gathering the mutated ferns. Best way to do that is once you find that save, delete all the saves above it. Exit the game then load that save after deleting the Exitsave. I've had to do that a lot with the game, the issue is not with Heather, more of a FO4 issue.

WOW,,, so many posts.... I hate to do this then, cause I just can't go thru 6900+ posts looking for the answered question.
So,,, I downloaded this some time ago, and just RECENTLY installed it. I was trying to adjust her body shape via bodyslide,,, but was only able to make her thinner, fatter, or muscular. Any of the bodyslide sliders don't seem to work.
I did install the 2 files for her, also the patches file for AE, and the bodyslide files from the other page. Also built the outfit in Outfit Studio. Is there something I am missing here???

Here's a sorta work around for what you experienced. I tried the same thing myself. I use Dicky's Pinup Collection, run it thru Bodyslide , then equip Heather with the High Heels. This makes her body like the one I built in Bodyslide, she's nude with only the high heels. I move the size to just to the left and below the center of the triangle, gives her some curves. Then re-equip her default clothes, so far I haven't seen or had any problems.
      Hope this helps.

What if I just try giving her a different outfit??? What she has is ,,,,,, "nice",,,, but it's not doing much for her figure, and looks a TAD bit bland. Was thinking the Light Brawler Outfit, or Evil Detective.

Have you made a custom body for the females in bodyslide, Make sure the outfits are CBBE and bodyslide compatibale, if so do a batch build after installing the outfit mods. Make sure you check the right boxes, then batch build. Shouldn't have any trouble equipping Heather with any outfit. I prefer Dicky's Pinup outfits. Skimpy as all get out but every piece can have Ballistic Weave provides the best protection except for Power Armor.

Yup, did all that. Tested outfits on other companions with NO problem, but put it on her,,,, and it uses her body, and bodysliders still not working. I did notice in Outfit Studio that her files show as nudes.

I just got a quest to go to University Park, way before Heather asks to go. Is it safe to take her there early or should I leave her at the Bunker?

I've looked around, but could have missed it in the posts. It's with the Railroad and I haven't even gone to Valentine's office the first time. I'm no where near completing Reunions. Iirc, this is my 6th game with Heather and it's never come up before but I don't want to break her quests.

    Thanks

      Hi :)

It should be fine, however, if anything goes wrong it would be that her conversation doesn't play correctly. If that were to happen you can set the objective in her debug/cheat terminal. Failed objectives to other quests can be set there as well. The downside to setting objectives completed in the terminal is that the actual conversation is skipped in order to set the objective.

Also, I've given you an answer re: boring and annoying general chatter in the other thread because other players commented there as well. You can turn off that chatter in her terminal. Several settings can be managed there.

Go ahead and do the quest, won't affect her Sweet Revenge quest at all. She will comment on UP at some point about a couple of things. Sometimes more but nothing about finishing her affinity quest if you haven't finished the Reunions Quest..

I've read several posts about Heather's chatter. Well it don't bother me cause I just like hearing her voice. Plus i have what my wife used to call "selective hearing", it just works for me. So I don't try to limit her chatter, also if "What's on ya mind" is greyed out I just exit the conversation. For those folks playin with Heather for the first time I strongly advise reading all the sticky notes, all the descriptions and all the bug reports. Helped me a lot I tells ya.
I have done 24+ play throughs with Heather, and I hear new comments all the time. She has a lot to say in a lot of areas, hats off to llamaRCA for such attention to detail.
On a side note, I just completed Nuka World for the first time. Heather bailed my old ass out when I started Open Season. When I killed the first boss she capped Gage before he could move. Drilled him right through the brain housing group.
Thanks again llamaRCA, you the bestests

Thanks again for all your work on this great mod!

Is there a way to adjust how often Heather, randomly chatters? I've played through several times with her and had great fun. I just want to increase the time between the general, repeated chats.

    Thanks

Yeah, her constant repeating of the same lines over and over again can become quite annoying after a while... I wonder how many times have you already heard how the radstags are as tame as brahmin or how raiders are vicious and stuff - My head almost exploded from her repeated lines, so I decided to let her go for a while and have some time off from her... :D I won't let her be gone for good, though, as she is indeed awesome otherwise (if she doesn't get in the way too much), so I will go and get her again after I 'cool off' from her chatter about the same stuff over and over and over again (I wonder what she is going to say after some time when we'll meet again after asking her what she's thinking about after so much time apart? :) Oh yeah, it will be her famous "Not much, you?" response again 100%, no matter how much time will pass, so I can't wait to hear her interesting thoughts again... Or, maybe not). XD

I use Heather in her Enhanced Sneak Mode. She still comments occasionally but doesn't interrupt my looting, crafting or sneaking through enemy territory. The Enhanced Sneak Mode seems to mute all of that persistent chatty bullsh*t.
I had that trouble with Ellen the Cartographer and finally sent her home. I too get aggravated when a follower is too damn chatty, especially when the dialogue is the same, "Yes?", "What do you need?" or "What can I do for you?" Because my answer is always the same, "I need you to shut the f*** up and let me work in peace!" Because the last thing I want when I'm at one of the work stations is an uninvited dialogue of the same incessant comments or questions. "Yes?", "Yes?", "Yes?", "Yes?", "What do you need?", "What can I do for you?" Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!! SHUT UP!!!!!
Try Heather's Enhanced Sneak Mode. It may just spare your sanity. I play a stealth character in every game that has that mechanic so the last thing I need is any idle chatter. I noticed enhanced sneak before installing Heather and set her that way right from jump street and had zero annoyance from Heather. In fact, when she speaks in my game it is either pertinent situational commentary or regarding her affinity progression. Which is welcome dialogue/commentary in both instances.
When you reach a certain affinity with Heather while she's set to enhanced sneak you'll get a pop up box asking if you want Heather to be invisible when sneaking. It's your option to choose yes or no.
      Hope this helps!

Guys, you can turn off her general, boring chatter in the terminal in her bunker or you can build her debug/cheat terminal in any settlement (found in Power > Misc) and turn it off there. Her quest and location relevant chatter will still play.

At least for me, Heather's radio signal won't play. I can click on it and it will make the noise saying it's tuned in, but her message won't play. Oh and for some reason the Nuka World station isn't showing at all, but that isn't really related to my problem. The only mods I have related to Heather are the main one, no more granny panties, and the assorted patches for Armorsmith Extended and Full Dialogue Interface. I've tried reinstalling the mod and moving the two Heather related esp files right down to the bottom of my mod list but no luck.

It was working in my previous game, but not in this one. I know it's optional and all, it just kinda annoys me.

If both Heather's station and the Nuka World station aren't playing my guess is that you have a mod in your list that is conflicting with both.

LlamaRCA, you have certainly out done yourself with Heather!
Willow is one of only very few mods that have a permanent place in my New Vegas load order. I had tried other New Vegas companions but only Willow made the grade. I feel the same about Heather. She is the very best follower available for Fallout 4 and even improves on Willow. I don't know who the woman is who does the voice acting for Willow and Heather but she is exceptional. When I speak with Heather and Willow in game I genuinely feel like I'm speaking with a friend. I love to hear her drop the occasional F*** bomb as it makes her feel more like a real person and not some pretentious China doll. I love her voice, I love her style and taking Heather on a tour of the Commonwealth has been the highlight of my Fallout 4 experience.

I installed Heather after I completed all the railroad side missions, just before rescuing the 4 synths at Bunker Hill. So, we saved the RR HQ and Bunker Hill for last. I've been holding off on going to the meeting at the Institute because I hate the thought of leaving Heather behind while I go put on even more pretense for "Father" Shaun. We had a blast touring the wastelands together. I even gave her Grognak's Axe. Heather seemed to genuinely appreciate the gesture. I credit that to exceptional programming, story and dialogue writing and amazing voice talent.

I used all of the optional mods listed under requirements on the mod page and my Heather could not have turned out more perfect. I really appreciate the enhanced sneak mode. Not only can Heather sneak well, the sneak mode option also seems to control random chatter. I ended up sending Ellen the Cartographer home for that same reason, way too many random comments and questions that were not just immersion breaking, they were outright infuriating! (FYI/BTW I blame the base game's follower AI for that, not Ellen's author or voice actress.) I haven't had any of that BS chit chat nonsense with Heather at all. She's a real joy to travel with. When Heather speaks in my game it's either relevant situational commentary or dialogue opportunities pertinent to advancing affinity. Both are welcomed opportunities to hear that awesome female voice. So, if anyone out there thinks their Heather talks too often I recommend Enhanced Sneak Mode. It seems to do a great job of limiting Heather to pertinent commentary and affinity related dialogue.

Apologies for gushing so.... I just really appreciate all your efforts that have yielded such an exceptional companion for Fallout 4. I shared some screenshots. I hope you like them. When I said I used all the optional add on mods that includes her "out of my league" body and the Wasteland Heroine's facial makeover. IMHO Heather is perfect. Thank you for sharing her with us.

5 smiley seal of 100% approval!!!!! I endorse and highly recommend this mod!!!

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!
    Kind regards.

In console (~) type "player.additem xx04F2AE 1" without the quotes and xx replaced with the first 2 characters from Heather's plugin location in the load order.

@nickbang - You can build one at a chem station, but it's only available in the menu when you don't have one in your inventory.
