Forgive me for my English. when I play, all the time there is a warning alarm sound on the background, and I do not know how to stop it. It sounds something like this :
Any chance you could add the generator sound in there? Or know of a way to lower the sound significantly? I've been wanting to do that. Generators are obnoxiously noisy.. especially if you're inside your settlement and you can still hear them right outside the walls, ugh.
I added the option to mute them in v1.3. However, I found more references to seemingly irrelevant generator sounds in the archives, so let me know if I need to take a closer look at those, too.
Thank you so much! I believe this is the only mod I've found that disables the noises completely. Other mods lower them and that isn't what I wanted, so thank you again! Do you have plans to remove the hammer sounds? I can locate the path for these sounds if you need it. I tried to do it myself but I'm not 100% sure how to and I don't want to screw anything up lol.
Tentatively included the hammer sounds in v1.4 now, however these are generic sounds, i.e. all other instances of people hammering on metal will be mute, too. I left the wood ones in for now, though.
Wow, you work so fast! Thank you for your effort toward my suggestion :) I am not sure if I have heard the wood sound yet but if the metal is gone: phew, don't have to lose my mind in my own settlement anymore q: If I may ask, did you replace the original sound files with a silent audio file? That's how I tried to do it myself but I messed up somehow -_- Regardless, thanks again!
Yep. Essentially what the script does is copy the included silence.wav, which is 0.1s of generated silence, to the appropriate places. I just have to figure out where to put it by scouring the sound archive, but once I know, I can mute pretty much anything. Glad you like my tool! (Giggity!)
Hi, would it be possible to remove the chewing sound when eating food? Because of my misophonia I can't use the food ingame because of the sound triggering my stupid brain. That would be awesome.
Would be nice to see sound of legendary enemy mutating and sound of picking up legendary item disabled. Can't believe how many small annoying things are in this game.
Are you running it as administrator? Not running it with admin rights is the only thing I could think of as causing an outright crash, all other errors should at least produce a readable message.
Edit: I have updated the script again, it should now throw an error message if it can't confirm that it has admin rights. Try v1.4; if it gives you an error message, run it with admin rights.
thanks for replying. I have redownloaded the new version and even with running as admin it still pops up for a split second then goes away, giving me no options. I am using windows 10 if that helps
Unfortunately, I have neither enough technical knowledge about Win 10 nor a copy to try different things on, which means that sadly I can't really troubleshoot that particular problem. But if you give me a list of sounds you'd like muted, I can compile an extractable version for you.
Paranoia3460 has informed me of some bugfixes to implement into my script, some of which fixing crashes. They have been implemented in v1.5 and likely fix your crashes.

There is a possibility that you can turn it off completely ?
Have given up the game because it ...
Please save me !
