Version 0.6 of Remove Ugly Flat Trash is now posted. See the Changes tab for what's new. The mod is pretty much complete for it's intended purpose at this point, so I don't foresee another new version anytime soon. There are a couple of other trash textures that I would like to take care of, but I haven't been able to find good substitutes for them so far. They are used on 3D objects that have collision, so I can't just hide them. Short of a texture artist offering their help, I think I'm just going to have to live with them. It wouldn't bother me so much if one of them, Landscape\Ground\DebrisGroundTile, wasn't used pretty much everywhere in the Commonwealth.

Since I don't foresee much more change to the main mod, I'll probably look into uploading it to Bethesda.net now so that console users can benefit from it too.

I plan on releasing a version of RUFT that uses textures from the High Resolution Texture Pack DLC for the few that I edited rather than just hiding. I did post an update to Remove Generic Posters today that is based on the High Res DLC. There are only two textures in that mod though, so it was fairly quick to update. RUFT will take longer.

Beyond that, I have started an update for Remove Other Flat Trash. Only a single change so far though, so I will probably wait until I find more before posting it.

Thank you to everyone who has given feedback on my mods. I did a search on Nexus for "trash" today and found that my mod is number two. Number two in trash - my mother would be so proud! :-)

I guess it is compatible with Insignificant Object Remover, , right?

This actually helped me with a problem I was having with Robco Service Center and missing graphics so thank you.  It also makes things look more visually appealing, so thank you for that as well.

I never really had a problem with F04's graphics, except for those squashed brown tin cans painted on the floor everywhere that looked like a texture brought over from fallout 3. Thanks for getting rid of them.

This mod is amazing. it's such a massive visual improvement.

    However, things can be improved.

Firstly, go get the loose files version of this mod, by HappoMatka, it also removes ugly flat trash from rubble textures. Just load inawe's mod first. This looks the best I think.
    (EDITED)

the texture rubtrashpiles02_d.DDS but the level of detail is insanely good. Then go into the loose files here and find Textures/SetDressing/Rubble and delete the folder with 3 files in it; Next, delete Textures/inawe/SetDressing which also contains 3 files. EDIT: also delete rubtrashpiles01.BGSM from Materials/SetDressing/Rubble. That will make sure HappoMatka's textures are used.

If you don't like HappoMatka's textures, then just don't do any of this.

I should note that inawe's work on some of these textures like DiamondRubbleTrashBurnt01_d.DDS is really good, better than Luxor's. However, Luxor's version of ClutterGenSmallA_d.DDS has slightly more detail. I'm trying to learn how to edit Luxor's file in the same way inawe edited the vanilla file. Just need to figure out normal and specular maps...

Currently, with only these in the mod list, there's been no change in game. Is there something from the install I'm missing?

    Using MO2 for install.

UPDATE: I've fully uninstalled the game, removed all relevant document, installed the mods here, and started a new game, went to the museum of freedom, and the trash is still there. No clue how to resolve this - loading the same save without the mod DOES NOT give a warning of "playing with X mod", leading me to think that this mod isn't being applied.

      Try Putting:

      sResourceDataDirsFinal=
      bInvalidateOlderFiles=1

      In Fallout4.ini under [Archive]
      this mod still works

Yeah this mod totally works, it's effing amazing! the floors look so much better. Doesn't remove all floor decals but just the really ugly ones like DC Security office/Jail, that's a good example for a few different types of ugo decals

EDIT: ah, I'm using the basic version. it's great. other versions remove even more stuff. Also it doesn't break precombines

    textures\inawe\invisible_d.dds
    textures\inawe\invisible_n.dds
    textures\inawe\invisible_s.dds

What do these do? That folder does not exist in the game, there is no FOMOD to rename them and replace the game files, and there is no plugin to do anything else with them.

I like things to be clean . 200 plus years with no tv or movies is plenty of time to sweep up a little . I''m an artist, so I may know something about compliments and how they can affect creativity. I very much enjoy your mods . Keep up the strange and bizarrely saturated shiny work  .   I have spent several years now scouring the nexus .  I would like to share some rare gems with others that would use and enjoy your mods .  Architex ,  yep  its old its german and it looks a little plasticy  but stay with me here . Architex changes all the building textures so it saves you dozens of gigs of texture mod space and improves performance and load times . Combine it with 2 build mods . 1  : MDE2506's mostly colorful and modular hotchpoch and other stuff .  Great mod so well organized and easy to use  ( too bad all that great work got such a horrid and ridiculous title . architex and hotch potch together will give you clean white new damage free  walls windows etc.   then of course snappy  but there is a pimp mod with floors and foundations and HZY for rare classy furniture .  Von helton's stuff also looks ok but the sizes are wonky .    with those 5 or six mods you can give your treasures their proper home and not die of tetanus or hypothermia . please enjoy and all of you are welcome

    Does this mod break precombines?

It should not. As far as I can tell it only replaces texture/material files with blank or invisible versions.
