At first I was like "Do all these people not know about adding items with console commands?" but it turns out star cores added with "player.additem" can't be installed in the mainframe, so this mod is really useful.  Thanks!

There is a type that can actually, but I long since forgot what the item number is.

Plus I would never remember play to play, so this seemed easier.

.. there are two starcore codes.. one that is just a Misc item and  one that is this quest item..
.. you can't use player.additem for the quest starcores.. you need to use player.placeatme 0601F0E5 <amount> and then pick it up..
.. you can spawn any number of the quest starcores and then pick them up from the ground..

One my first playthrough, I got frustrated and used the console to pop in a couple.  Funny thing about that.  They didn't work.  No other console codes showed up for star cores and I used all that came up in the console.  So, for some reason, using the console doesn't work with these things.  Either you use this mod to make it super easy, or go to the game sites and look up the locations which is tedious as well.

There are actually 2 types that you can spawn in through Console. One will work, the other is sort of dead.

I just made this to make life a tad easier. I usually end up going to all the places they are hidden, but more often than not forget to grab them.

Not sure why. Some people did say when they did a new run, it worked.

Thank You for this! I am replaying fallout 4 again in VR and did not want to have to search all over again for these. Did not know about this mod until now! Endorsed!!

Can you do us a favor and remove all the starcores from the map?
its not logical and is a little annoying cuz starcores are listed as a quest item and cannot be removed from the inventory
pleeeeeaaaaase remove the original ones from the map... pleeeaaase

I considered doing that right after I released this version. But that was a handful of years ago, and I am not modding anymore. Plus, I just figured (at a RP level) they were extra ones the team left there.

Plus you can use player.removeitem [item code] [amount]. Unless you are console, then I cannot help. But I am sure there is a mod for this as well.

If you download by vortex and found it didn't work ,just drag the STARCORES.esp into Data folder manually.

The ESP is in my data folder but it still does't work. Do I have to install this before starting the quest or something?

I don't think so. It is the simplest mod ever. Just places useable star cores in the Port. But we did have one person say it worked after he did a new run, so maybe.

i made a new character to test and it worked, I think it was because I did half the tar cores before I got this mod
