It doesnt let me place any of these stations. When I select the station, the only option is to press escape. I have all the requirements. It does for other workbenches as well. Not sure what the problem is.
Are you saying that you have this issue with the base game's workbenches as well, not just the ones from this mod? If that's the case, do you still get the issue with the mod disabled?
I am new to mods. I have enough issues with standard vanilla games, however i would like to add a few power armor displays and have downloaded the Power Armor Display stations and extracted the files. I just dont know if i can add these files manually or if i have to use another program to install this mod ? It contains 3 folder ESL, ESP and fomod Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks
It's easiest to install the mod with a mod manager like Vortex. That'll handle a lot of the installation process for you. With you being new to mods, that's what I would recommend using instead of installing mods manually.
Something you'll need to know is the difference between ESL files and ESP files. While they both contain the same content, ESP files contribute to the 255 plugin limit the game has, while ESL files don't. There's more detailed explanations online, but that's the main point.
For a mod like this, I'd recommend using the ESL file, as it's what that sort of file is made for. I wanted to give the ESP file as an option as well, though.
There are two options regardless of which file type you use, but those are simply personal preference for which workshop category the display stations will be in.
It's working fine for me. I just downloaded the file with NMM, and all 4 options were properly installed into the data folder. I'm inclined to say this is an issue with your version of NMM, but it's hard for me to say. It doesn't seem to be an issue with this mod.
I've addressed this in the bugs section and in a post below.
In short, I don't know what causes it, but as a workaround, if you place one of the DLC power armour displays down somewhere nearby, the ones from this mod will work fine. You don't need to power it and you don't need one for each colour.
I wish I could provide a proper fix or a better answer for this, but unless someone with more experience can solve this, the workaround is the best I can do.
I tried the NMM version, but even on trying to install it, NMM tells me if I would be installing your mod it would cause instability with my other mods. Is this only a random NMM glitch or are there indeed mods it could have problems with?
It sounds like it's just an NMM glitch. This mod only adds new forms/records, so there's nothing for it to conflict with.
There might be issues with mods that alter the workshop categories or mods that change the power armor stations/power armor displays, but I don't think there's any way for NMM to know that there would be an issue there.
Ok, bizarre issue. Using the file to put in the display category, for some reason the lights on the top and bottom front of the new display stations are pink. What makes this a bizarre issue is I know you used the vanilla display stand's textures (and meshes and materials, for that matter) and my vanilla display stands lights are not pink. Was this an intentional change? If it was could you tell me how to change it back to vanilla? I don't mind changing the mod myself, but I don't know which files to modify.
It's a bug that I have no idea how to fix (if it can be fixed). For some reason the game refuses to load the textures properly if you use the meshes in a new object in a plugin that's not the Contraptions DLC.
There is a workaround I found, though. If you have one of the displays from the DLC in the same area/settlement as the ones from this mod, the textures start working properly on the mod versions. You don't have to worry about powering it, it just has to exist in the area/settlement, though I'm not sure if it needs to be visible or not.
Ah. I should have checked the bugs section first and I'm sorry I didn't. Thanks for the reply though. I'll try the workaround and see what happens. Thanks for the help!
Yep problem fixed with v1.0.1, renaming it to v1-0 didn't work for me earlier, glad you could fix it that fast. I'm sorry to learn it was a pain in the ... wherever it was painful.
Thanks again for such neat little Mod and for your fast update !

Do you know if there is a standalone mod that will let me make or use Power Armor displays ?
I am using NMM.
Thanks for the .esl option.
Edited..
You were right. It was NMM. works fine now, last night it did not want to.

Absolutely love this mod otherwise.
