Figured out the flickering problem: an errant setting on the Galaxy BSTriShape that sets it to be skinned when it has no skin data and shouldn't have any to begin with.
I second the request for knowledge. If it is doable to fix it just let me know what it entails please. Or keep us up to date if you release it since the mod author is no longer modding.
Thank you so much for these instructions. This worked perfectly. I have a R9380 and most of the time the galaxy was bugged out and just showing weird lines in my sky. Now I have a glorious night sky.
Can you/anyone confirm if this fixes flickering associated with scrapping mods? Galaxy4k works fine for me on it's own, but when ScrapEverything or SpringCleaning are installed the flickering starts back up.
Thank you so much for this fix and the graphic!!! I've literally been trying for years to get this mod to work properly and am so excited this finally working properly! Like seriously I cannnot thank you enough. Is there anyway we can get this fix posted and to get you some credit for it?
I am using the current Nifscope (2.0) and Vers 1 of this mod and I am getting the galaxy blinking out at times. I tried the instructions posted below but the Nifscope menu looks different and if you look at my image you will see that the Skin for this object says None. So, maybe I am looking at this wrong (I am a complete noob at nifscope) or the skin was fixed. But if someone could point me in the right direction, it would be appreciated.
And when I DO click on the flag I see this list, not the short list he has in his image.
It's right there. Literally right there. The same flag set I circled is clearly visible in the first image in the Block Details pane. "Vertex desc", click the flag, uncheck "Skinned" in the resulting prompt.
Muchas gracias, no usaba este mod por que la galaxia no aparecía en mi juego, hasta que decidí ver tu comentario y seguir tu tutorial, de nuevo muchas gracias.
I am no longer modding and none of my mods will be receiving updates. However anyone who wants to is free to make updates for any of my mods themselves as long as you; -Let me know first, you don't even need to wait for me to reply, just send me a message to let me know -Give proper credit, when adding the file info, where it says 'Author' just put '[Your Username] and SpaceGoats' -If you want to use any of the textures from this mod you must ask Apinanaivot for permission as well.
Check the mod you want to use's sticky for possible extra requirements.
uninstalled this and now when i add clear weather console command the sky is riddled with stars more than was actually there with the mod . how to remove mod even after uninstalled?
For some strange reason it doesn't work for me, I activate it but when night falls I don't see anything, did I do something wrong in the installation of the mod? I use vortex
But I know there was an older file before where you could use a star mod along with the galaxy. Would love to get the hands on it again since the included stars are more looking like a multicolored light chain and do less sparkle then the stars texture overhaul which I used back in 2016.
One general sad thing, if you're zooming in with a scope into the sky it looks very low definition like, like back on those 90th games looking like it's just a painting. But I guess it's the fallout engine after all.

If for some reason you only have a render pane and no block list or block details pane, go to View menu -> Show -> Block List and Block Details.
Though I did have a few absolutely clear nights and it's absolutely gorgeous!

You have my thanks for sharing your fix.

I couldn't figure out why the galaxy was there on my laptop with Nvidia but never showed on my desktop with Radeon. Weird bug.
