I think it is extremely important to note that the stealth mode of the hunters of the institute is not interrupted during the shooting, I think it is worth using it in the institute's stealth combat, of course, with a reasonable working time of 4-5 minutes of stealth

"Did you ever wonder to yourself why the underdogs at the Railroad have their own special version of the Stealth Boy, yet the technologically superior Institute doesn't?"
Yeah, and the answer is the same to "why don't they have their own power armor?" and "why their own laser weapons are so bad?". They're NOT technologically superior! They just have stolen resources and lots of slave labor:\

I would say teleportation alone making them technologically superior, they just dont have the power at the beginning to use it right.
No other faction creates their own tech they just steal, atleast institute invent.

The institute are bio engineers and can create life, they use them as slaves but infact they do create life.
They replant enhanced seeds to make life grow again after they've waited out the extiction of mankind, hence mankind redefined (created).
They play god, but in the time they are in they are doing the right thing. (imo)

Basically they are superior in all ways, since none can reach them but the vault dweller, he/she is the weakspot of the institute by following the vaultdwellers search for it's child.

The Stealthboy if you read the terminals in the game, was an chineese invention that was scavanged and tweaked, but not invented just copied by railroad.

"The Stealthboy if you read the terminals in the game, was an chineese invention that was scavanged and tweaked, but not invented just copied by railroad." - And this is intended to be the Institute's tweaked version. That's why the crafting recipe requires an original Stealth Boy.

Well the Institute are continuing the policy and practice of organizations like Vault Tec, Poseidon Energy and the Enclave.

(Unwilling) Human Experimentation - Similar to the Nazi
Research into FEV and other Bio weapons presumably to exterminate "deviants and mutants" (in actual truth just the normal settlers and minutement of the wasteland), much like how the Enclave was wanting to do to the Water supply in Fallout 3.

Morally the Institute is as Bankrupt as they come, wondering if they can and not if they should. Their Synths and Teleportation are rather wonderful advancements, but used horribly... Its like discovering the Cure to cancer solely for the purpose of making an incurable new Cancer.

Institute Lasers are actually weaker than the Lasers from the war.

Institute advanced Technology sprang from a desire to separate themselves from the polluted and genetically inferior wasteland. Thus limiting interaction with these Genetic throwbacks on the surface world to the Synths and their infiltration, executions and espionage. Also the teleportation using the classical Radio waves in the wasteland to move synth kill teams to areas to better pacify Wasteland Free Thinking Deviants while maintaining maximum distance and minimal exposure to contaminating ideas and thoughts that culminate in the wasteland.

So yes, the Institute made synths, and teleportation... and with that advanced Technology export death, Bio-warfare, FEV mutations/ Supermutants, kidnappings and genocide on the Surface dwellers who are by the institutes definition scum...

So basically... Xenophobic Nazi's bent on genocide and conquest maybe not so overtly, but covertly.

I both agree and disagree with you. It's true that that may pretty much sum up how the Institute /was/, but under my control things have changed (And would continue to change even more if it was within the scope of the game to do so). There are steps you can take to help set them on the right path once leader (A few quests and such), and I truly believe my Sole Survivor would help them do even more was she a real person.
"So what about the innocent people at the Railroad"? Well, the way I saw it was Shaun was /my/ child, not the other way around. Just because he was raised without much moral fiber doesn't mean my character was the same way and wasn't about to be bossed around by their own child. I've done several throughways, and in the last I forced the game to make the story play out how I'd make it play out if it was real. I am the leader of the Institute as well as an active Railroad operative and the Railroad members are still alive and well.
All of this fits into my character's story, but it is of course technically cheating to get these results. But... This is an RPG and I personally think that if it was held to the standards of Fallout 3 or NV, there would have been a legitimate peaceful outcome.

The NCR and BoS in Fallout NV were in a state of (Now cold) war for instance, but to take down the Legion I got them to band together. Did they really want to do so? No, but it happened. And if it had been possible in Fallout 4, I would have done the same thing as that is what I believe is right.

Yes, what I have stated is true according to lore...

What the Player does, is not considered lore...

The True Measure of a groups morale standing is what they do or have been doing without the overwhelming force (the player character)

Basically what you are saying is what you will impose, and in my play through following that chain of thought, the Institute Literally sweeps through the land even worse, doing things and atrocities that would make Pol pot, Hitler, and Stalin Blush....So the hypothetical arguments of the Sole survivor and the change they affects balance out and negate each other.

The Same Argument can be made for the Enclave mods that let you command the Enclave, that you can change the group, is that lore.. nope...
Just like the Institute Turning over a new leaf isnt lore either. Its one of many possibilities left up to the player as an RPG.

But because of that I don't accredit it as either lore or an excuse for past actions.

So the argument that "My Institute" is kind of moot realistically, because the game really doesnt give you further options to change much, it is really just assumed that you will not simply be a figure head, or simply killed and replaced with a Synth.

However, part of the fun of the game is essentially changing history and what you would like to do to affect change, New Vegas did more with letting the player see the affects of their choices as compared to Fallout 4.

But ultimately my argument is more for what the Institute does/ did according to lore, as opposed to what they do once the Player arrives. because then... with mods.. the sky is the limit.

), Munition Plasma, Armes a énergie Plasma.

I had to log in to tell OP how wrong he is.

Not the most technologically superior? Stolen resources? Are you mad? They're literally the only faction in the game that has created and advanced technology way beyond pre-war.
Teleportation. Advanced robots indistinguishable from humans. Cutting edge technology for advanced crops and medications. Virtual immortality (Kellog) TELEPORTATION (Yeah I know I mentioned it already but it's literally amazing).
What else do you have? The minutemen have their cobbled together laser weapons, the Brotherhood of Steel are the leeches that have stolen resources (that you claim are the Institute) then of course the Railroad which are barely worth mentioning. The brotherhoods main matra itself is pretty much "Walk around the wasteland and steal other peoples resources and technology" using power armor that was used by soldiers 200+ years ago.

Like.....I just can't believe someone could have played through Fallout 4 and not consider the institute by far the most advanced and scientific faction in the game, the only comparable in terms of advancement and technology are the think tank from FNV and they were virtually comic relief.

If we only went by what any faction "did" in the past without player intervention, then there's really no good factions any ways. Minutemen are closest, but even they fell apart due to infighting and eventual decay that left it to the player to rebuild or neglect. The Railroad does what they perceive to be justice without understanding of scope, context, or consequences. The Brotherhood of Steel is probably the biggest villains after the Enclave as far as lore goes.

Institute did bad things, and good things. Forming an opinion to damn them and not the rest of the wasteland with them would be rather hypocritical.

Can you also make a very expensive prototype version that just discharges after use? requiring fusion cells, or cores to function?

I'd love to, but sadly I think that's beyond my scripting ability. I'll look into it, though.

lol, makes stealth boys actually useful. Fallout 4 made them absolutely useless unless its night where the bonus seems to apply best, but so does just sneaking at night.

The coursers do use cloaking device, probably stealthboy in terms of gameuse but presumably their own, I think (correct me if im wrong) the synth gear was the first pieces to be found with invisibility (atleast was for me).
