this mod does work as intended, but unfortunately the delay also applies to the weapon you switch to (take a shot with the sniper, then switch to something else like a pipe pistol and I'm sitting there spamming the trigger on that pistol with it not able to shoot for 2 seconds or so)
Although I was hoping to find a mod that would just move the lights to a less retarded location, this mod still helps a lot. Thanks!
I have 2 suggestions for a mod to work around this:
1 - move the charging lights onto the sticky-outy bits of the 'clamps' that wrap around the barrel
2 - simpler, but less cool, just substantially increase the volume of the little clicking noise each time a charging light comes on.
Both would make it far easier to get some real-time feedback, especially the 2nd option would allow you to tell the charge level clearly while staying scoped on your target without having to unscope to check the charge, then re-scope to reacquire the target.
I don't know what to tell you, I checked both files in FO4Edit and everything's set up correctly, there's no reason for this not to work if it's at the very bottom.
It's not a bug, they did that so you could still fire off shots if you needed a fast shot right away. What would be better is if you could mod it so all the lights stay off until its fully charged, or even better, make it so each light does increasing amounts of damage, up to the listed damage when the last light turns on.
Nice to see this bugged someone else (I slapped such a change in my personal tweaks mod ages ago when I got sick of not knowing when the bloody thing was charged (no indicator while scoped, and the mountings for the scopes tend to block it).
