Mod's been given a small update. You can now fix the revolver after it breaks. The fixed version is only slightly stronger than a regular .44, and doesn't have any of the unique abilities of the original (so no perks, and no chance to explode). A few people mentioned that the just liked the retexture, so I figured I'd add that in so they can just use it as a regular, retextured gun. Enjoy!

It would be hilarious if I gave it to my companion and watched it explode in their face xD

Fixed a bug that I caused way back when I added in the negative perks that can cause the gun to NEVER explode...which kind of defeats the entire purpose of the mod. Fixed version is 1.3, sorry about the delay in finding this particular bug!

Very interesting mod. Do you think you can do a version that just adds the barrel, receiver and grip to the workbench?

So, just realized today that I somehow accidentally edited the regular .44 to have the RR's mesh as it's base mesh. I didn't catch it earlier because I was using the revolver my character already had on him to check it, and that one was modded.

I've uploaded a new version of the mod that fixes the issue.

I don't know why I like the idea of this thing, I think I'll keep it as a treasure and have it mounted somewhere in my settlement.

The entire point of this is to add permanent debuffs to anyone who uses it, right?

Seeing such creative mods just warms my heart. This is why I play Bethesda games. Not because they can be great games, but because of you modders

So, from the feedback I'm getting, I think I'll add two changes to the mod as soon as I get the chance: I'll weaken the perks and maybe instead of them being permanent I'll have them last a certain amount of time (I still want them to last quite a while, as an incentive to actually gamble and use the gun). I'll also add in a greater negative effect when it breaks. I'm thinking something along the lines of a perk that weakens your limbs for several days (i.e. the gun exploding caused damage to your arm that a stimpak just can't fix, and it needs time to heal), as well as adding a negative effect for each positive perk you've unlocked up to that point (so, for example, if you're at rank 3 of "Luck of the Draw", the gun exploding will add 3 temporary negative effects). I might also increase the kill count required to unlock the perks a bit, but that will depend on how long I decide to have them last (if I have them last, say 3 days, and make you have to kill 20 people for each one, they'll more than likely end up resetting before you can get the 100 kills required to get the fifth level; though I guess I could set it so it only starts a reset counter AFTER you've gained all 5 ranks).

If anyone has any other suggestions, let me know, and I'll see if I can add them in.

      Okay, updates have been made!

I reduced the buffs from the positive perks (instead of all being +25, they're now +10%, +10%, +5%, +10%, and +10, respectively), and set it so that they'll be removed from the player 3 in-game days after you get the final rank (rank 5).

I also added in 6 negative perks that can be added when the gun explodes. They also last for 3 in-game days before being removed. No matter what, the player will get the "Crippled Arm" perk, which reduces the health of your right arm by 50%. And depending on what rank of "Luck of the Draw" the player had when the gun broke, there are 5 levels of the "Out of Luck" perk that can be added. Each one has the opposite effect of its corresponding positive perk (up to and including rank 5 causing enemies to set YOU on fire).

The gun exploding will also now immediately remove ALL of the positive perks from the player, regardless of what rank you were at, or how many days you should have left.
