I might be misunderstanding the function of this mod so. My issue is I created an automatron, it's big, with sentry armaments. When I walk it sticks to my character's back as if trying to walk through me resulting in annoying pushes or it just circles around me and stands in front of me. Does this mod increase the follow distance between me and my companions or decrease it ?
2 years later and I found a mod that does what I think most of us came here for. I want my followers to get out of my way all the goddamned time like can you not see that I am actively aiming through a scope right now why would you choose to walk directly in front of my face omg it's always the exact moment I freaking fire.
Anyways, this mod makes companions respect your personal space.
Heyo. I was wondering if you could make a patch for unlimited companion framework or somehow have a way where I can use this mod and have multiple companions. I would really appreciate it. I want a squad of like 20 soldiers all grouped together lol
Would be great if someone created mod which really STOP companion from approaching me closer than specific distance. The distance should be a bit more then "E" command starts working. If I need chat with companion I would walk to him.
it will not support multiple companions mods as far as I know. A mod like UCF or Unlimited Companion Framework mod uses its own followplayer packages separate from the vanilla followplayer package which I have edited. The next mod to consider is Multiple Followers Overhaul, which I have not looked at yet but if they use the vanilla followplayer then I assume it should work fine together; if they use their own then no dice.
Even with this mod companions tend to still lag behind abit, usually taking awhile before they start moving towards me, but I think it's better than before? But maybe unlimited companion framework is not compatible with this mod?
A weird side effect of this mod is that it removes collision with companions, I can walk right through them.
Definitely not compatible with unlimited companion framework. That mod also has its own followplayer package (followerscompanionpackageex) that uses vanilla settings for follow distance and sandboxing. If you want to fix this issue suggest using FO4Edit and changing those settings yourself.
1. Load unlimited companions framework with FO4Edit 2. Go into the package listing 3. Manually change all the settings under the column "Package Data"
There won't be any way to tell what package data is what in terms of minimum follow distance and sandbox loitering roam range. Generally sandbox and max distance follow range is set at 1000 so it should be easy to guess what is what. Read the descriptions on my page too so you can get the gist of follow distance formula used by the vanilla package setting, I listed the original numbers there so you should have no problem figuring out the different settings.
Not sure about the clipping though. Never had that problem on my end on three different playthroughs so might be from another mod.
Can you make a version where your companions stop wandering all over the place whenever you're just sitting there? You mentioned there 'roaming radius'. Would it be possible to reduce that to zero?
Tried the first version and followers was still too far away, I would kill everything almost before they turned up.
The second version of this mod that keeps them within 75 distance, whatever that means is BEST. Piper and Curie are always next to me just a few feet behind, they always take part in the action now.
Sorry for the late reply, too busy with work these days to check up on this. I appreciate your comment and I'm happy to know this mod is helpful for you.
Vanilla= Followers are WAY too far away when outside, and a normal distance away when inside. With this mod= Followers are a bit too far away when running around outside, and a tad close when inside. With the 75 distance version= Followers are at the correct distance outside, but are physically attached at your hip inside.
Seems like we almost need a mod that changes distances based on if your in an interior cell or exterior cell.

My question about your mod is as follow - dose your mod remove the "party banter" (when your companions say random things while exploring)?

Does this mod also supports multiple companions, or only adjust the distance?

Best version of this mod.
