Features: - Standalone mod, doen't required use of FO4Hotkeys anymore, but highly recommended. - Working toggle Right-Left camera position - Auto update camera - Customizable X axis setting
Works like a charm, thank you for your hard work ! Only wish Fo4edit would support Dpad inputs on gamepads. Right now i gotta use a 3rd party software to use the toggle with a controller button I don't normally use, like the PSbutton. But hey, no big deal, thanks again for your work, this mod is essential for 3rd person !
If you wouldn't mind, what software are talking about? I play with an Xbox 360 controller and would love if I could set that center button to change my camera.
can someone help me? im trying to use this mod but know nothing about this stuff. i installed the mod and dont know where to find fallout4custom.ini....UGHHH
Well, as far as I understand, what this mod does is it overrides the default FO4 camera settings and basically flips the X axis position of your cam in third person when you activate the item.
So your Fallout4Custom.ini file should look like this if you want more custom camera positions: "[Camera] bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0 fOverShoulderPos=XX.XXXX (Idle 3rd person camera position. I have it set to 40.0000 for example) fOverShoulderCombatPos=XX.XXXX (Gun combat cam position) fOverShoulderMeleeCombatPos=XX.XXXX (Melee combat cam position)" If you don't have some of those just put them in. The file is located in C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Fallout4
Not sure how to do power armor but pretty sure it just follows the same logic. In game you have to activate and deactivate the item and the third person view for it to refresh and for the camera to align itself porperly. Hopefully it helps everyone else as it helped me figuring it out :)
Optional Standalone Version - 3 camera mode cycle: "right->center->left->center->right" with optional separate Y axis for left/right and centered camera. Added two console commands: - "set sposy to XX", where XX is your value from setting "fOverShoulderCombatPosZ". Used in Right/Left camera mode. - "set sposyc to XX", where XX is your value from setting "fOverShoulderCombatPosZ". Used in Centered camera mode.
If you want to get rid of message about equiping the item when using FO4Hotkey just add "0 1" to the end of lines, for example "Y player.cf equipitem XX000F9E 0 1".
When I right-click to raise the gun, the camera moves forward so that it cannot see my character. How do I set this value so that the camera can still see the character when raising the gun?
As someone who is a total noob with computers and all that, what does this line mean: "2. In Game, type in console "set sposx to XX", where XX is your value from setting "fOverShoulderCombatPosX"
you don't need a "mathematical license" to switch the camera. It's pretty simple if you know what you're doing. In the fallout4custom.ini file in C:\Users\yourusername\Documents\My Games\Fallout4 there are a couple settings. Hit control+f to search for the specific setting in the ini file you're looking for. All of this information is on the internet if you'd just look.
If you don't have those parameters, it's fine to just add them yourself.
So your Fallout4Custom.ini file should look like this if you want more custom camera positions: [Camera] bApplyCameraNodeAnimations=0 fOverShoulderPos=XX.XXXX (Idle 3rd person camera position. I have it set to 40.0000 for example) fOverShoulderCombatPos=XX.XXXX (Gun combat cam position. Example: 60.0000) fOverShoulderMeleeCombatPos=XX.XXXX (Melee combat cam position)
The file is located in C:\Users\user\Documents\My Games\Fallout4
Not sure how to tweak the Y axis but there's probably something like a fOverShoulderPosY=XX comand or something. The lines above adjust the camera on the X axis (left and right). Hope that helped :)
If you're like me (almost completely code illiterate), then, please, for the love of GOD, know that you don't have to go through the hassle of setting up this mod. Just download this: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29905?tab=description
This mod when assigned to favorite will not work smoothly, you won't swap instantly if you're aiming down sight. FO4Hotkey by registrator2000 helps with this. Assign the Activator to FO4Hotkey and you will swap side in any state ( afaik )
I don't know how to put this as least rude as possible but the mod " custom camera " [https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29905] has a shoulder swap function built in and is much more responsive and simpler than this one.
This mod is probably unsupported so help yourself and head to the other one

Is there any way to switch cam in idle and melee (fOverShoulderPos andfOverShoulderMeleeCombatPos) ?
your cam in third person when you activate the item.

To adjust the camera to go lower, you may want Custom Camera
