To everyone who says this mod doesn't let you refill bottles, what's happening is the game handles refilling bottles as a "quest" that runs in the background in order to get those scripts on demand. Any mods that mess with that "quest" is going to have a conflict. It's not that this mod doesn't work, it's just that you have a mod conflict.
You have two choices. You can load this mod at the bottom of your load order which risks other mods not working, or you can go in with FO4edit and merge whatever conflicts you have. Either way, this mod absolutely does work.
I've used this mod just fine years ago, but now it liturally broke hunger and thirst in Survival mode entirely. Worked as soon as I disabled it. May have just been a conflict, but be wary that this may be the cause.
welp this was a waste of time... the main reason to ever need dirty water is to make soups. this mod makes it more difficult (by only accepting water in specific containers in all recopies) while i love the principle of the mod (remember using a similar one in new vegas) afraid i'll have to pass
GMTB modifies the HC_manager script which is also used by Survival Options and Everyone's Best Friend, so if you have either of those installed and run into issues with this mod, that might be it.
It is said that Survival Options is not the cleanest mod and is often not recommended. So, you can use Survival Configuration Menu, that also has a patch for Everyone's Best Friend and Give Me That Bottle. I'm guessing it patches the HC_manager you're referring to.
Not sure if it is due to script lag or what could be, but while the filling on the bottles work, when I drink something that is 2/2 I am not getting back the 1/2 variant. It was working before, and the conflict esp and script wise are taken care off, but it just suddenly stopped working no matter what I try.
Oh well, rollback it is. I went back 3 hours and the mod is still working after the new updates, somehow it seems that the quest HC_Manager just stopped working?
i really want to continue using this mod buy i dont think i can, its making find and geting dirty water for recipes really hard. as there is a bug with making the water boxes for dirty water where when you make one it will scrap the one you made to make the next one and im just not finding it enjoyable anymore, unless someone knows a fix... idk...
tldr; To add a new drink and new empty, duplicate, apply, and tweak an MGEF that's passing a ref type that matches your new empty (ALCH or MISC).
Is it possible to add new drinks with new returned items without changing the scripts? For example, could one add an MGEF to the new drink that calls xxBottleAdder with BottleHalf = new empty? Or is the scripting too hardcoded for that to work (looks like almost every bottle type has its own script, which seems crazy on the one hand, on the other hand, what Beth's ideas about programming force onto mods... :)
[Edit] In the spirit of don't know 'til ya try, I gave that quick go but no luck.
I realized all the uses of xxBottleAdder I could see are passing it an ALCH, where I was giving it a MISC (new empty bottle). So I switched my MGEF to another script picked at random that is always passed a MISC in the MGEF config. Works!
Is there supposed to be a way to acquire the means to boil/purify the water, or is my game bugged? Because I'm not getting the option for either in neither the campfire (cooking station) nor the chem station. Anywhere. Not playing newest game update due to mod incompatibility.
