    F.A.Q. (PLEASE READ)
I'm fairly certain you will find the answer to your question here.

Q: Does this work with ENB / Lighting Mods?
Some popular ENBs disable the game's image space filters, which are what the game engine uses to apply tint/brightness effects.  Look for an ENB that works with the Night Person perk (the perk that gives you brighter vision at night) and it will work with this, as they use the same technique.  These goggles are effectively a night vision scope for the eyes, if that makes sense.  If an ENB disables image spaces, there is nothing that can be done on my side.

There are some patches out there that might help, which I'll list here as I find them:

Q: Can the vision modes be set to OFF by default?
A: sqparadox has made a patch here that does this and more!

Q: How can I add the vision mode to other armor mods?
A: It's a bit too tricky to explain if you are not familiar with more advanced modding. However, JohnnyBlade has made a great add-on that allows one to craft an invisible eyepiece you can use that doesn't take up a slot. Grab West Tek Invisible optics here!

Q: The screen goes black sometimes, what's happening?
A: This can happen when using night vision goggles and a night vision scope. Fallout 4 has a problem with multiple image spaces overlapping, which can sometimes turn the screen black. If you're using a weather mod that layers image spaces to allow for in-game brightness control, this can cause the black-screen issue. I can never reproduce this issue consistently to find a fix for it, but it's still something I'm looking into. Most people do not experience this (myself included.)

I'm looking at making the goggles disable when aiming down the scope but it's tricky. Stay-tuned.

Q: The switch stops working sometimes. Can you fix this?
A: As stated in the files, the switch is very much a BETA / WIP that is a little buggy. You don't have to use the switch. If you simply use the goggles as normal they will turn on when equipped, turn off when unequipped like they always have. When I get around to rebuilding this mod this will likely be addressed.

Q: The goggles have no effects when equipped.
A: You need to craft a vision mode. The goggles are cosmetic by default.  Go to an Armor Workbench and modify the vision mode to be of your choosing.  Make sure you have the necessary components and perks.

Q: How can I bypass picking up the schematics to craft them right away?
A: This will be tweaked in the upcoming version, but use the console and type help "West Tek" 0 and you'll see a BOOK named "West Tek Schematics".  Use player.additem to add this to your inventory.  Upon reading it, the schematics will unlock.

I'm desperate to get this to work. I've followed every step. I can craft the goggles, assigned all vision modes, I've assigned the FO4 Hotkeys script and I hear a soft "click" when pressing that key. Also, F2 & F3 work, so Hotkeys is working correctly.
The goggles work in LowLightVision (Green hue), but I can't switch around.

I also tried the Switcher item, but that doesn't work either...

Just typing "cqf WestTek_GoggleControlQuest GoggleToggle" in the console results in the same soft "click", but no reaction from the goggles.

What other info should I provide to help out, please?

Edit: I had to use the consol command to bind Hotkeys. That was the only way to make it work.

I was able to craft all the mod options for the Power Armor and it works fantastic(toggle switch as well).

Unfortunately, I only had the cosmetic options for the goggles on my character.

Only by using West Tek Invisible Optics, was I able to get it to work.

This Mod made me feel like I was playing Ghost Recon BreakPoint. Seeing in the Dark, Thermal vision being extremely important for gaining a tactical advantage in a situation with low visibility whether it's night, fog, in a cave, acid rain. Nice!

Is it possible to have a white-hot version of this?

Hi, new to modding, sorry for a stupid question. I have two mods installed with Vortex, Full Dialogue Interface and West Tek. Both are set to enabled, I've changed the staging folder and the option to deploy mods is also active. Full dialogue works, but then I write "help "West Tek" 0" in the console to check if the mod is working, it gives me nothing. No blueprints in the hospital, either. From what I understand, the mod doesn't work for some reason and I don't know how to fix it. The three files from the mod are in the data folder, I have manually re-downloaded them and dumped them both in the data folder and in the vmm and reinstalled them, so I don't think the files are corrupted. I've edited Fallout4Prefs.ini and Fallout4Custom.ini, but other than that, I couldn't find any other possible solutions. Are there any other steps I have to do in order to be able to install mods for F4? I don't have Script Extender, which from what I understand is not necessary for this specific mod. I don't have any other mods except full dialogue, so I don't think it's a compatibility issue. I'm on the latest patch, steam version, windows 10.

for some absolutely incompretensible reason your mod was disabled in the load order, sorry to have wasted your time.

Hi there. Huge fan of the mod here. Wondering if you've considered updating the Xbox port of the mod or giving the green light for someone else to port? I know there used to be a more updated version as part of a pack previously.

    Thanks for your time

Hey! Currently working in 3.0 and that will definitely come over to XBOX. It's a lot more streamlined.

FOUND GOGGLES NOT TURNING ON FIX:

If anybody is having an issue with finding a pair of goggles on a corpse and instantly running to an armor and chem workbench to craft the vision mode and toggle switch only to figure out they don't exist. Only to realize that you need the schematics to be able to see the crafting recipes. Then you spawn or find the schematics and then are FINALLY able to craft the vision mode and toggle switch only then for nothing happen. Then you go and look all over the West Tek and F04 Hotkeys page to figure out where you screwed everything up. I HAVE THE SOLUTION.

It appears as if many of the NPCs in the commonwealth are jealous of others who have actual working West Tek Optics. So they have went ahead and made very convincing replicas so that they can look cool for their raider and super mutant friends. There is no way to tell these optics apart from the real ones until you actually go to the crafting bench and try and make them work, but FEAR NOT.

IF YOU'VE FOUND THE SCHEMATICS AT THE LOCATION IN THE MOD DESCRIPTION, THE WEST TEK OPTICS MADE AT THE CHEMISTRY STATION ARE FULLY FUNCTIONAL AND SHOULD WORK!

Hopefully this saves whatever idiot would spend an hour and a half trying to figure this out some time! And hopefully the mod author will make it a little more clear that these optics are cosmetic only.

The ones on NPCs are the same ones you buy in the shops/etc. so they should be moddable. They should even come with random effects. That's very weird. I'll look into it. I'm working on v3.0 at the moment and will make sure to sort that out.

FINALLY able to craft the vision mode and toggle switch only then for nothing happen

Are you saying that everything was working but the toggle switch once you unlocked the schematics?

Exactly, I'm not 100% sure if it's just Wes Tek that is at fault because I do have over 100 other mods installed. The first 2 optics I found were on Super Mutants outside of Diamond City. I found the Hacked Visor and Hacked Goggles. At first only the cosmetic changes showed up in the crafting bench. But I spawned in the schematics just to test if the mod was working and the other crafting options appeared. Once I selected the vision mode(green) I noticed that the lenses turned a dim green on the model but once I used the toggle switch nothing happened. Then I got F04 Hotkeys working and still nothing. Anytime I pressed N it just gave me the little fallout "error" noise. This was the case for both goggles.

Now the Super Mutants that I found them on were "special" becasue I have the Forced Evolution mod so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. But crafting the optics inside of the chemistry station and then upgrading from there made them work completely as intended. Did not try it with purchased optics yet.

Oh man! This mod is soooo awesome! Would be possible to also release it on consoles? I would love to use on my PS5 playthrough.
