Does this affect scripted encounters between NPCs, such as when walking through Diamond City and you hear two people discussing the Railroad, with their dialog starting solely due to proximity to the player, or just speech direct at the player?
A bit late, but there's another mod on here that edits the same record.
In its description, it mentions:
"This mod does not disable general "chatter" from NPCs, vendors will still yell out, NPCs will still have conversations with each other, and companions/settlers will still talk about you crafting stuff, ect."
And since it's the same record, I'm pretty sure this also applies to this one.
YEah thanks a lot ^ totally same reason this MOD is a MUST with automatron , I mean, wth was the programmer thinking when he wanted to make clingy mofo Ai , robots that are even more clingy then humans lol. I will endorse as soon as it lets me TY TY nukeclears.
Main purpose of this mod is to LIMIT greeting distance, not get rid of it completely. For me, having some greetings is good. Adds to immersion and makes it seem more like the NPCs are talking to people instead of patiently waiting for you to say the first word.
However, I detest having people grab my attention from the other side of the market and then issuing stupid statements like "Ummm...hello?" and "You okay there?". So this mod is perfect for me, and I imagine others that feel the same.
Will this allow me to use workbenches in shops without having to creep around the walls to avoid the shopkeeper or is it just sort of ambient dialogue? Dunno what the hell Bethesda were thinking when they put that in.
Does this apply to companions or just to regular NPCs? I can see from some of the comments that it applies to automatrons but I really just need it to shut up the idle companions I have in my main settlement.
