    VERSION 1.0.1 POSTED (20160403)

    - Added the Bugle Repertoire holotape to Ernie's steamer trunk, so you can get it without killing the lead Eyebot.
    - Added holotape, key, password, and racing flier to the desk below reserve racers terminal (warehouse in track infield).
    - Still hunting the random, angry scavengers who visit. And the perimeter mines. In the meantime, save often. (The racetrack NPCs stay on your side, but it sucks to lose a robot or a spectator.)
    - Still looking for a way to resurrect dead robots. Robots added by console command do not recognize racing script.

    PENDING UPDATES

    - Remove the mines from the perimeter (in process of identifying which ones are standard vs car bombs used in robot self-destruct)
    - Make any random encounters friendly (scavengers, mostly). They will show up for the racing instead of hunting scrap.
    - Remove Easy City Downs from radiant kidnapping quests.

    WISHLIST

    - General cleanup: scrap all the junk cars, repair the bleacher stands, etc. I want modders to design their own versions, but I might make one too as an optional download. (At the minimum, there will be an optional "clean slate" version available to build on.)
    - Repair the clubhouse and reopen it for business with better lighting, posters, food, etc.
    - Custom NPCs and quests (after GECK)
    - More audience members
    - More racing / better scripts
    - Prizes and gambling
    - Automatron support
    - ... ? (There's sooooo much potential here, all of the above is just a start)

Somebody mentioned that a DLC may take over this area. That's fine if it happens, I will just revise the mod as needed. But I'm not going to wait and do nothing in the meantime. (Especially if they really did abandon the code for whatever reason. This place is a modder's paradise.)

Requests are welcome. Feel free to add your own ideas. Just remember there is a scale from "doable now" to "pipe dream" that all ideas fall into. Once GECK is out, I expect this place to become a major hub. It's open source and anyone can make improvements.

I can imagine there will be raider versions, Kentucky Derby versions, everything from upscale to notoriously seedy. And they will all be awesome.

Robot repair wrench. Force a robot to respawn instead of reverting to a prior save (one of my track bots was killed by a random scavenger encounter).

I need to research whether this breaks anything, but having a method to keep racers alive is a priority. (I would rather revive them than make them essential / invincible.)

If you still plan to do anything with this, the floor in the main building isn't done so you can't place furniture there.

Some workarounds I used, planning to upload some screenies when i finish building here.

      For PC users;

Open console, type disable, be careful not to deselect, leave the id # in console, then close the console
Place a 1x1 floor tile on the ground, then place a small steps, the one with 2 steps on top of the 1x1 floor tile.
The attach other 1x1s to those steps.
      Open console again, type enable.

The old floor section will come back and cover what you did. Lather, rinse & repeat for each floor section.

Now you'll be able to place furniture attached to those spots. Alternatively, place more floor tiles on top of the floor after enabling and it may work even better.

On cleaning the stands, scrap what you can of the trash and garbage. Then you'll have to open the console and click on the trash that's left and hit disable, then markfordelete. I was able to clean them up really well and removed the broken benches and skeletons. Look nice now.

Put some animation markers in the stands and the settlers will go up there.

Build area. There are some issues. You can build pretty far out. It's huge. But I use cheat terminal to create settlers instantly then manually assign them. On the trac or inside the track area, I can create a settler using this method, but outside the track, like the stands or tunnels, cheat terminal tells me you can only use this feature within a settlement. So that area isn't seen properly as part of the settlement,

The workaround is easy though. Nothing stops you from building or placing anything outside fo the track area, so you return to the track, create your settler, go into workshop mode, highlight the settler, press enter, go to the outside object you want to assign them to and it will still allow you to assign them and it's verified they will go to that area to their assignment.

Anyway, that's what I did. And it's now a great settlement and I get a cut of the profits from the gangsters that run it. (Well settlers that are dressed like gangsters anyway.)

      Great mod!

This sounds really freakin awesome!! Did you ever finish building it up? I think its really awesome to create your own settlements in the other unique places around the commonwealth. Myself, I really love Big John's salvage location, I think that could have been the COOLEST gunner setup (because I always roleplay as a gen3 gunner). I would absolutely love to see your work!

So you basically created a new faction (or restored a cut one)? I actually don't need them to be friendly, just don't want the robots to be hostile.

A separate faction is a nice idea, I'll try to use it to add some custom weapons to my game.

This was done pre-CK with FO4Edit, so it's a bit crude. Because the enemies are leveled, the only way to avoid game-wide changes (in Triggermen and Raiders) was to duplicate the spawn refs, change what I wanted in the refs, then point the game to my copy of the spawns. The end result is a friendly crowd that appears to be vanilla. Unfortunately, for some reason I never made a video for the mod.

I recently found Final Render's Repaired ECD mod. Unfortunately we didn't know about each other's work at the time. I tried to test it, but couldn't get his building to show despite downloading the required mods. I did make a test video of that. At least his CK cleanup of the benches and infield is present.

      https://youtu.be/9pdZgUHdsUQ

Note that in my mod the robots are not blocked from racing, because my mod doesn't include the scaffolding bridge shown in the video. But the video can give you a sense of what the friendlies are like.

In my opinion, the friendly version is a bit boring. It was meant to be a resource for other modders to build with, but for some reason nobody seems to know this mod exists. If I can get Final Render's edits to load, I'd like to script gambling and other functionality to make the place more interesting.

Yes...been looking at both yours and Final Render's mod for this place.  I love the things he did to clean it up and make it look like a real place for people to go and watch races.  I'd love to merge the two having his version of fixed bleachers and places to sit within the middle area and the Announcer for the races to keep doing that, and Final Renders fireworks at the end of the race, but for it to be friendly and the robots to not fight or to have to kill anyone to have this place as a working race track entertainment area.  I don't think either one is working on these mods anymore and that's too bad.  I still play this game after all this time and wonderful mods like these never get updated or something done like planned which I saw ThoraldGM's comments on Final Renders posts but he never answered any one's comments on there it would have been great to see these two mods merged and this hope to finally have this potential of it be restored and unique in the game.

Thanks for making this! Now Easy city downs is one of the best locations in the game. <3

Seems to work fine, but for some reason it causes a building to disappear but not the signs, painted mural on the side, and some of stray sections of wallpaper or brick. There is some collision left in places, and not in others. Moved this mod to bottom of list, didn't fix it. If there is a mod conflict, I have no idea what it would be. This happen with anybody else?

Still using this in 2021. Great mod. Goes very well with other mods that enhance the area. Using it currently alongside 3dNPC and Beantown Interiors, and it's all that my robot-loving heart could want.

Hey I have a problem with the mod; when I show up there most of the place is gone and there's just two angry Raiders there.
I'm using a lot of other mods including Horizon, which might be the origin of the problem.
    Any ideas for a fix?

Sounds like you killed everything there before installing this mod. I did the same thing, and when I go there I find two angry raiders as well.

They were never friendly for me. I killed em all, built the settlement. There's one raider there that doesn't speak if you talk to her. She just walks around, but does interact with some objects.

I have a quest to kill Raiders here. Is there a way to avoid this quest without killing Eager Ernie?

Can this be used after everything is already dead?
