    Hello I used to use this mod back before I started using vortex. I used to manually add mods 1 by 1 and this mod used to work flawlessly.

    Since I got back to playing I use Vortex because I just found out about collections. I downloaded this huge collection which is working perfect. I thought ok let me add the bullet mod I used to use. I downloaded your mod and added it to my collection. For some reason it is not working and the weird thing is every other decal, bullet hole (long range bullet hole mod), and blood stays on the ground except the bullet casings. The mod collection is over 500 and even if I place your mod at the top it still doesn't work. Can anyone provide any insight as to how I can get this to work?

      Try the new ESL flagged version, make sure the Vortex mod manager flags it as light so it shouldn't take up a 255 limited ESP slot.

      Thank you so much for taking time to assist on this but it didn't work :(. I even went into my data folder to make sure there is no old rain of brass mod still there. Not sure if this can help but the 2 collections I currently use are:

      So I looked through the collection and there is a mod there called Bethini that forces changes to draw distance, decals, etc. to keep the game from crashing. I think that is the culprit not your mod. If I can find out for sure I can follow back here and let you know.

      Ok it seems I've made it work with the help of a top comment from Shell Rain modpage. I created a file with the commands that the comment mentioned and put it in the location where Fallout4.ini is located. It HAS to be the right Fallout4.ini file that's being used by Vortex (for me it was in 'AppData/Roaming/Vortex/fallout4'), I failed a few times because I wasn't editing the one that is associated with Vortex profile I am using. Don't forget to add the 'sStartingConsoleCommand=bat mycustomconfig' under '[General]' in the .ini itself after copying the other file.
      If all that still doesn't work, also copy the file (mycustomconfig.txt) to Fallout 4 root directory AND '{fo4-root-dir}\BethINI Standalone\Presets\Fallout 4'.
      Btw the values are a bit different from this mod but you can customize them when creating the file mentioned. Shell Rain modpage describes what each command modifies.

    Just curious if this mod has any conflicts with New Calibers or any modded weapons? I mainly use new calibers and Modern Firearms guns. After installing this and putting it below those ESP/M's when I fire my weapons (even tried on a vanilla combat rifle) the casings only stay for about 20-30 seconds. Any help would be appreciated! I love looking at the casings after a firefight just to gauge how hectic it was haha.
    Edit: If it helps I'm using the collection "A StoryWealth" as my baseline but I've since added quite a few mods to that, so much so that I have to pick & choose things to axe or keep or turn into ESM's with Wyre Bash

      It's hit and miss, I went hours upon hours without any issues however now that I'm using changed ammo types (from combined arms) its crashing.
      Buffout is showing this mod is the cause and appears to be a conflict in the converted ammo. Disabling this mod has stopped the crashes.

      I can confirm that currently it doesn't play nice with some parts of:

      • Combined Arms (1.1 patch)
      • Combined Arms Expansion Pack (1.02)
      • Combined Arms Weapon Overhaul Project (V1.2.3)

      Thrusty22: All the casings should work the same, it's just the engine effect. Maybe some issue with the casings from that mod. Maybe they use some other effect for casings that's not the engine casings effect.

      mvinc006: Maybe it's an issue with the mod's casing models or the model collision geometry. Maybe if they tried using the default casing models and only carefully replace the mesh then it might eliminate the geometry as a potential issue. If there's still an issue then maybe it's a problem with the mesh or texture.

    It's the small things like this that make a major difference. Probably my favorite mod in my load order. A suggestion, please can someone or the author do this for weapon mags. There is a mod that does the mags already but that one is abandoned etc. Thank you!

      I personally would say that no one should do this with mags. You live in a post apocalyptic wasteland, the last thing you need to do is drop your empty mags, you will need them later.

      That said, it would be cool if someone could add in a function for collecting magazines, and filling them with bullets. It would go great with an animation showing your character trying to put the magazine away. Would literally be the most immersive combat mod on the planet.

    At random times a handful of shells drop at my players feet. I have noticed it typically happens when a BoS Vertibird is in the air in my vicinity fighting with people on the ground. Anyone know what is or could be causing this, could it be the shells from the minigun on the Vertibird?

      This is a bug within the mod that has nothing to do with BoS. It's been present for me since I first used this many years ago.

      I am not sure, but I think it's some kind of lag and those bullets are being fired somewhere near by then the game drops them near you for whatever reason. Just observed this many times and haven't actually looked into it. It can happen near any group of NPCs engaged in a firefight.

      To be sure it's not some kind of conflict you would need to start a new game with only this mod active and see if the problem persist. I never commented this bug as I hadn't tested clean like this.

      Is it trying to drop the casings from the vertibird closer to the player, because of render distance or something?

    Hi, Im using Vortex. It looks like its installed and has no problems except.. there are no shells raining :( Ive had this mod before and i remember shells making sounds as they touch the floor and are visibile. none of this is there during this time. solutions, please.

    WEIRD PROBLEM please can someone help, I’ve NEVER had this happen but I began modding fo4 after I finished getting my modded Fo3 fix. I have This mod for both Fo4 and Fo3 and last night just coincidently I felt like launching Fo3 again and inside vortex it said “Missing master for Shells Rain, depends on Fallout 4 esp. (I believe it was the esp maybe esm? Either way now when I launch Fo3 the screen is just black and nothing happens. Is it this mod? It has to be something else but this didn’t happen until I started modding Fo4. I’m not sure how it could have happened bc I don’t download anything manually. I did have do a system update too on the same day I noticed this was happening, maybe that’s the more likely culprit? Please help I’ve put way too many hours into Fo3 to break it without even trying to lol...

    i get this from LOOT: This plugin has a header version of 0.94, which is less than the game's minimum supported header version of 0.95.
