I personally run 60 / 51200 / 1000 to make it a little more performance friendly.
You can also put these in a bat file (eg mycustomconfig.txt) located in your fallout 4 root game directory and call it via the console using "bat mycustomconfig" (no quotes) to apply them all quickly.
If you want them auto run on game start make your bat file with all custom settings then in your fallout4.ini file add: [General] sStartingConsoleCommand=bat mycustomconfig
Tip: At any time if you want to see the current value for a variable in the console just type "getgs variablename" eg "getgs fGunShellLifetime" (without quotes).
About 2 years late to party (lol). But yes it will work, its just editing how long shell casings last for (And other related things), it doesnt do any direct edits to a weapon, so as long as the weapon ejects shell casings, it will be affected, even if it uses modded shell casings.
I just wanted to clarify to people wondering if this mod might possibly effect performance. Most people ask if it will cost any FPS, and the comments are filled with conflicting statements. But that is the wrong question. Since most of us probably know Fallout 4 can be running at a consistent 60 FPS but still suffer from "micro-stuttering". So I tested the mod for myself to see if there were any adverse effects.
I'm using a 4th gen i7 @ 4ghz, 16GB or Ram, 2x SSD's in Raid0 and a GTX 1080 on Win7. Playing at 1080p on Ultra settings WITHOUT this mod I get a Stable 60FPS outdoors but with decent stuttering when strafing (usually in the presence of heavy god rays). BUT when I add the iFPSClamp=58 command to the ini the stuttering completely goes away even under the worst conditions.
But WITH this mod enabled, after 20-30 or more bullet casings are on the ground the micro-stuttering appears again (Mostly when facing the casings on the ground). Not as bad as without the ifpsclamp setting, but definitely noticeable. I'm guessing many people probably don't notice it if they're not using the iFPSclamp setting or weren't getting consistent frames to begin with, as I played for hundreds of hours in "stutter mode" as well before finding that ini command.
Of course my experience could be due to my chipset/configuration/OS or many other factors. But I felt the performance impact question just needed more input. I'll also point out that I get the same minor stuttering when I enable the Nvidia Weapon Debris setting after about 20 to 30 pieces of debris are created, and the stuttering gets more and more noticeable with more debris.
Yeah, I've got a 6-core i7 and a hybrid OC'd 1080 and I've still had my fps drop to around 5 in certain parts of downtown when there's a firefight going on nearby. I have yet to try this mod but a slightly toned down version would be nice. Like 5 minutes, 500 rounds, 10000 distance.
It is somehow simple to adjust the time & count to your liking. I opened the plugin with FO4Edit and adjusted the record values to 1 minute, 1000 pieces.
Yeah the spot distance is way too far and my game gets better performance by manually editing it. The author was very helpful in including the exact names of the exact values.

If you want to save on an .esp plugin slot and try out setting changes in realtime you can also just enter these values in the console.
setgs fGunShellLifetime 600
setgs fGunShellCameraDistance 51200
setgs iDebrisMaxCount 1500

Like if you add :
fDecalLifetime=800.000
fDecalLOD0=70000
it will make blood stains last longer.; would the same appply for this?
