Could we please get ash blossoms as a plantable food item? I suspect it may have been forgotten about when adding melon blossoms, gourd blossoms, chanterelle stalks, etc., as it's a fairly rare plant in the Commonwealth (only 99 total, and all but two of them are in the Glowing Sea). It was disappointing to finally get the ones just south of Cambridge Polymer Labs and then be unable to plant them at a settlement to get more to use in crafting. It was fairly simple (relatively) to put together an esp in FO4Edit that adds them in, which seems to work so far (looks right, plantable as a workshop item, able to harvest ash blossom items from it, regrows properly when a settler is assigned to it)
suggestions: can u add some metal parts at style of large cages for animals. u said u edit snap points in game so can you pls add snap points at vault prefabs, mostly for lights and boards with names of rooms up doors maybe also that boards like here : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17174 i am not sure about using both mods cus conflicts
Hmm, actually there are many things I would like to change/introduce, and I doubt you'll have the time for them all. I think I'll try do it myself. Could you give me a few pieces of advice? There are two general issues I have in mind:
- Changing the texture on an object. Can I do that by editing the nif file? I know textures are kept in dds files - how can I use those?
- Shortening an existing object, e.g. creating a 2-length wall filler from a 8-length one. I'm guessing I'll have to edit a mesh. Can I do that for example with NifSkope?
I tried to find files containing specific objects, but I couldn't find for example any wall fillers. Are meshes or textures stored somehwere else besides Fallout's "Data" directory"?
- Concrete wall piece 1x1x1 (i.e. smallest possible cube) - I believe this one tiny element would make the mod much more flexible and versatile, as it would allow to fill a hole or discontinuity of any size and shape. In a further perspective, you can also think of adding wall fillers of all meaningful lengths, i.e. 1 (as already mentioned), 2 and 4, both vertical and horizontal versions (other sizes could then be created by combining 1/2/4/8). I know there's already vertical 4, but more variants would open up many construction possibilities.
- Bigger windows, like in this picture: https://staticdelivery.nexusmods.com/mods/1151/images/thumbnails/11943-2-1460567343.jpg
Hi, Ethreon. I have another suggestion I thought of while building. You know those two balcony pieces (large walls) in the vanilla game, the ones where the 'wall' is made of three vertical posts with some boards on the bottom kind of like a railing? I was thinking it would be great to have versions of those without the railing pieces so it's completely open. And some snap points in there to snap other railings or wall cuts. I also nuture dreams of having that fabric swag that's hanging from the windowed part of one of the walls as a separate object that will snap in place, and come in a variety of colors, but I may be asking for too much.
In the group of screenshots I uploaded of the Slog here, you can see the piece I mean. In the 6th picture, where you can see the back of the capsule prefab, to the right of it, you can see the balcony piece. It has the blue rocket pattern fabric swag hanging across the windowed part of the wall.
If you need me to, I can take a picture of just the wall piece without all the other distractions when I go back in game tomorrow.
So... suggestion. How about the real estate stairs? I mean the stairs, what you can found everywhere in the game at houses, church, etc so it's kinda vanilla. I only found those type of stairs in snap'n build which is: 1. not available anymore 2. keeping settlement mod for only one reason when you use a lot, not a good idea. Funny thing, those stairs are one of the few things in that mod what the npc characters really use.
Here's a screenshot about some of them, especially the back line is really good: https://s24.postimg.org/x4mkbtavn/Screen_Shot0.png
By the way, thanks for the hard work, the whole master plan series is basic for me.
Just look at that. I have that mod too. Thank you, regardless of your decision if you develope it or not, but if you decide to put them in one of your mod, I'm happy with any solution. : )
Hi, Ethreon, I have a small (mighty) need that maybe you can help with, if you are inclined. I absolutely love your tire planter, and I make a lot of use of it. And I was wondering if you could make a similar planter with a smaller tire, like the standard car size tire. And this might be a little crazy, but I've been working on a Red Rocket settlement and was thinking that I'd love a planter in the bed of a pick up truck.
This is less an idea for VE and more in general for you. What would you think about making some prefabs for kinggath's Sim Settlements? I'd love to see your take on some junky settler homes and other plots.
its probably for the best that you don't have time - if you did, i would be forced to revisit the apocalypse on my settlements, and redo everything from scratch, as your efforts would be so bloody awesome!
I have been messing around with building an underwater settlement using [Settlement Objects Expanded], but the mod itself is huge and the water tiles can be kind of glitchy. I don't know if this suggestion would be stepping on that person's toes (and I don't mean it to be), but it would be nice to have just simple craftable water where a person could create a pool, aquarium, and maybe even an underwater settlement. Thanks for the consideration.
EDIT: Additional Idea - I sometimes use your cabin in the woods walls as settlement walls, like an old school military fort. Perhaps adding some vertical spiked log walls and doorway to vanilla extensions would be cool.
It would be, but I need to get an answer from Beth artists or someone in the know on how to make the water meshes I created fully functional. As is now they fall through the ground infinitely.
While I don't expect many to answer this, I am opening a suggestion box. I'm not out of ideas, but I don't really play this game anymore and my ideas don't fit to this mod. So there it is, lay out your practical, junky type of item, idea or set and I'll see what I can make of it.

so this piece's wood section and roof without the back, and hanging cloth the length of a wall like the same item?
