Fallout 4

Introduction
It's been a while.

The predecessor of this mod, "Army Fatigues Simple improvements", was the first Fallout 4 mod I made, back in 2016. It started as a simple retexturing mod that added "U.S. Army" branch tape to the vanilla army fatigues, then optional versions with various decorations were added, then standalone outfits were added, and it became hard to call it "simple"......

Well, it's now 2024. It seems we've come a long way.

Currently, this mod contains 51x2=102 patterns of skins. However, many users only need a few of these, and adding more skin customization options may only add to the complexity. Hence, I am going to finish the major update of this mod.

I deeply and profoundly appreciate everyone's support so far. Thank you.

How to add a custom skin
Now, that said, you may still want another pattern of skins. Or maybe you already have nice textures, but don't know how to make a stand-alone outfits plugin or don't want to go through the hassle. That's why I thought I'd leave room for users to add new skins to this mod.

1. How SIAF2 works
Let's start with a basic explanation of how the mod works.
First, the mod adds new fatigues with additional slots for skins. The skin comes with a material swapper, which replaces the vanilla army fatigues texture with another. The mod is then created by preparing a large number of skins with different material swappers.

In other words, it is not too difficult to add SIAF skins as long as you have nice textures created by you.

2. How to use the SIAF 2 Custom Skin plugin
SIAF_2_CS.esp takes the form of a submod with SIAF_2.esp as master and adds 3 skins for customization. All you have to do is install this submod and replace the textures.

The folder named textures\Satojo\Fatigues contains all the textures that SIAF2 uses. The textures for custom skins are stored in the textures\Satojo\Fatigues\C folder created in this folder.

Material files are stored in materials\Satojo\ArmyFatigues\C. If you need to replace normal maps or smooth specs other than diffuse maps, please edit them using the material editor.

You can also use more custom skins by editing the esp and duplicating the records need. Don't worry, FO4Edit makes it easy. If you have a lot of fatigues skins and want to make a similar SIAF2 submod and publish it, feel free.

I have added a SIAF 2 submod version to my previous Taggerdy's Thunder Fatigues mod. This may be a sample.

If you need any help, whether you want to make a submod for SIAF2 or create your own Fatigues Pack, feel free to ask in the comments section or by message.
