Job List Overview
Last Updated: May 31, 2021

On this page you will see the available job types you can receive from your assistant. This are simple, high level descriptions that do not take any of the random branching or iterations of the jobs themselves into account; it's simply a list to give you an idea of what each job is, at it's core.

Diamond City Kill Bounty - Rather straight forward job. Go to a location and kill the selected target.

Escort Trader to "x" - You will be tasked with escorting a trader from Diamond City to either Goodneighbor or Bunker Hill.

Kill Raider - An NPC will task you with killing a raider who did some not so good things to them.

Investigate Strange Noises - An NPC has been hearing some weird sounds somewhere and wants you to investigate.

Body Retrieval - An NPC will ask you to go and look for a body and to bring it back to them.

Postal Service - An NPC will ask you to deliver a package somewhere, or to someone.

Scrap Run Escort - You will be asked to serve as a guard to a group of NPCs going out into the Commonwealth to search for scrap.

Stolen Property - An NPC will ask you to recover something that was taken from them.

Hostage Situation - You will be tasked with rescuing an NPC from captivity.

Escort to "x" - An NPC has asked to join one of your settlements but is too afraid to walk there alone.

Sniper Hunt - You will be tasked with hunting down a high-powered sniper somewhere in the Commonwealth.

Amber Alert - A child has been abducted and you will be asked to rescue them.

Clear Threat at "x" - Rather straight forward job. Go to the location and kill everyone and everything.

Horde Hunter - A literal horde of ferals, including glowing ones, has settled along a trader's usual route. You're being asked to clear the route.

Securing The Perimeter - You join a squad of three NPCs to take over checkpoints around Diamond City. These NPCs will stay there forever! (*)

Overdue - Client wants you to go out and find a wayward friend, late in returning from a scavenging run.

Thievery - One of your settlements is being ransacked for supplies when everyone is asleep and its up to you to catch the thief.

Diamond City Capture Bounty - Just like in Crime And Punishment, you will be tasked with capturing someone and delivering them to DCSec.

Storming The Gates- An NPC is asking for your help in assaulting an enemy held position. Afterward, they could become a possible squadmate! (**)

Overwatch - A team of NPCs will be storming an enemy position and they want you to provide sniper support.

The Bodyguard - you are hired to act as a bodyguard, protect a client as they venture into enemy occupied territory to negotiate one thing or another.

Grocery Shopping - Super Mutants have raided an encampment and captured someone! You are tasked with rescuing them before they become a BBQ!

Shakedown - A client in Goodneighbor wants you to put some pressure on a debtor who is behind on their payments.

Polly Needs Meat - Simple, go out and hunt wild game and give Polly the meat. She needs the meat. For real. I mean, have you spoken to her?

The Old Religion - Pastor Clements is asking you to go out and find a religious item before the Children of Atom can destroy it.

Chem Runner - For Solomon this time. Needs you to raid some raider chem labs and score some new supply for him.

Goodreads For Goodneighbor - This time, you will be going out in search of new books for Daisy to read. She does love her books!

There are also a few event-oriented jobs that will occur as random events and some that will be given to the player via their office's mailbox too!

NOTE: Some of these jobs require the use of a disguise in order to make you "friendly" to normally hostile factions. You can find the Disguise Locker in the SPECIAL settlement build menu. Drop one into your office location and when you need a disguise, access the locker, choose the one you want and you'll be good to go! Just be warned ~ if you attack the group you are trying pass yourself off as, your cover will be blown for 24 hours and you will not be able to use that faction's disguises during that time. If you are involved in a GFH mission at the time your cover is blown, you will fail the mission. Not only are disguises required on some jobs, but others also have special circumstances in them, for is you opt to try to resolve a job in a non-violent manner. Doesn't mean you will succeed necessarily, but you at least have the option to try in a few of the jobs.

(*) There a total of six checkpoints around Diamond City that you can help take over. Once this job has been successfully completed six times, it will no longer be available to receive from your assistant. As stated, once overtaken, the NPCs you helped will stay there forever, so long as you are playing that character! And even better, they use a leveled list for their clothing and weapons, so you can make your own patch mod ahead of time, to ensure they all have a uniform look and loadout.

(**) You can run this mission as many times as you like, but you will only be allowed to ask three NPCs to join your team as squadmates. You will be able to pick squadmates up at the Gun For Hire office, once they are hired, and dismiss them there too, just like a normal companion, through they will not be normal companions. Think more like Heather Casdin. And yes, you will be able to use LooksMenu on them, as well as equip them with whatever clothing, armor and weaponry you choose. And the best part? You will be able to take all three of them out with you at the same time on any mission, be it from this mod or any other mod (or base game quest)!
