How-To Upgrade FallUI Item Sorter Pre-Built To Custom-Built
You have a working installation with FallUI series mods and use one of the pre-built Old FallUI Item Sorter (FIS1) packages or have FIS - The NEW FallUI Item Sorter in light/basic mode. All is working super, but now you have downloaded a new mod and it has no tags. So you like to tag that new mod too.
You're lucky, because with Complex Sorter you can simply extend your FallUI Item Sorting to the next level.
The pre-built ESP of FallUI Item Sorter are also made with Complex Sorter, but only with the most basic mods. You can do the same with all your mods and get a whole item sorting for your whole mod list.
This guide explains how to do this in simple steps.
Step by Step
- Install FO4Edit (in case you haven't already)
- Install Complex Sorter in your Mod Organizer
- Create a target(Vortex)/executable(Mod Organizer 2) pointing to the "Complex Sorter.bat" in the mod.
- Set the "Start in" directory in the target/executable to your FO4Edit folder (where fo4edit.exe is located)
- Install FIS - The NEW FallUI Item Sorter - Select mode Pro in the installer
- Disable or delete all pre-built FallUI Item Sorter (which ESPs are named like M8r_Item_Tags_Vanilla.esp, M8r_Radio_Tags.esp, FIS-Naming-Weap-Armo.esp, etc.) - You will build your own custom one!
- Start Complex Sorter by starting the new target/executable. Confirm your mod list and let it load.
- You now see the Complex Sorter main GUI. Check the plugins on the rights for things you like, like quest/radio tags, weightless etc.
- Click on "Generate Patch" and watch the magic.
- After generation finished, close FO4Edit and save the new file.
Your new sorting patch is now ready!
Activate it and sort it to the end of your mod list.
Tips
- Always make sure the item sorting patch ESP is at the end of your mod list. (It contains all winning records of your mods, so no mod will be overwritten)
- You can start Complex Sorter again any time if you have new mods or removed mods to update your item sorting patch.

HELP,What,s going on
all these instructions are contradicting with this
"If you use the ECO mod, which already include the R88-INNRs, you can skip this (CS 1.10 will show a warning but you can ignore it)."
but then the M8r98a4f2's Complex Item Sorter still needs the R88_SimpleSorter.esp
i know there's this
ECO Instance Naming Rules (INNR)
and this
ECO (Equipment and Crafting Overhaul) - FIS (FallUI Item Sorter) patch
so what in the world do i do if i shouldn't use the R88_SimpleSorter.esp from the Ruddy88's Simple Sorter page
top of that theres the FallUI Item Sorter - Tag Configuration files on the M8r98a4f2's Complex Item Sorter page
i know it say to ignore that warning but why have that warning there
maybe I'm overthinking it
The warning is already removed (when ECO is found) in the latest CS beta (not yet on nexus). If the warning keeps you uncomfortable, you can install the latest beta version from the development discord.
Check that you are using the correct ruddy88 innr esp and it is enabled while generating. It must be named "R88_SimpleSorter.esp"
Also make sure thatyour Fallout4.ini contains your correct language code.
