I DL'd this ages ago, but never tried it until today because of all the issues I read about. But, I got the itch to try it, and I'm glad I did.
I unpacked the mod, got it all into one folder, and got rid of the Fellout patch. I installed it in FOMM, but did not allow it to overwrite the few existing textures it asked for, at least not until I could step in-game and see for myself. Even without the overwrites, this is a beautiful mod. I'm using this alongside URWLENB weather by Marcurio (with foggy activated), Goodbye Green Color (a lite ENB) and The Imaginator, and I really love what I'm seeing here. By no means is it perfect, but it gets my endorsement regardless. I'll try to get a few pics posted to the gallery.
As for un-installing this mod, I tried unchecking it in FOMM, and it did leave some LOD textures behind, but once I deactivated it all was well. I do NOT recommend installing this mod manually, because removing it will be a nightmare.
How the hell do I get rid of this? some of the files are independent from the rest of the textures, and I have no Idea what they replaced, I just want this gone.
Yeah, despite the many, many comments saying "Just use a mod manager for the installation" (Which I obviously did), this mod still fails to uninstall properly. I resorted to downloading the mod manually so I can see what files it contains, and had to go through my data folder and remove them by hand, it took me the better part of an hour but was still quicker than reinstalling the entire game and all my mods.
This would have been an even bigger pain since many of the files were already installed by other mods (which I'd then overwritten with this mod), but one of the few bonuses of vortex is it detects outside changes to mod files, and so I was able to just delete them all and then have vortex revert the changes afterwards (since I'd uninstalled this mod in vortex first, it only offered to revert the changes to my other mods that were still installed).
I literally don't even know how this mod manages to fail at uninstalling! I've never even heard of that being a issue with any other mod installed via a mod manager!
All you have to do to remove a stubborn texture pack is copy and paste the pack in your game folder then right click and press undo. Then uninstall the mod in a manager and it will restore your old textures.
You also NEED TO BE CAREFUL using managers with texture packs because if you don't uninstall the packs in the same order you installed them you will end up with screwed up textures.
Also2 there's a better winter mod now called A Wish For A Nuclear Winter.
Ok. I think this mod is garbage and this is why : -it overwrites textures, so no longer 4k and maximum NMC's blablabla... -Can't play with the dead edition and the forested edition of Flora Overhaul (there are disgusting 2D textures on the top of each trees and I tried to delete these but they still appear. It works fine with the devastated edition, which is ugly af). -ENBs are pretty bad with it. -Many textures are outrageously just... well... not correctly dispatched. -There's even snow in some of the interiors like in the player house of Megaton for example. -Some of the objects that are side by side have different snow doses, so this is frustrating. -There's clipping pretty much everywhere (Im abusing a bit but that's true)
Some kind of 7 year old work and i know that the author isn't updating anymore :c
That is just my opinion, and many people seems to have problems with the mod. The idea is here, but it needs to be reworked, it could be so much better... and this is possible because it was starting very well.
this would be a great mod but when i get into the game all textures are static and they start to chang inbetween certain textures, when it isnt doint that everything is just COMPLETLEY black
It's too bad this is no longer updated. The LOD at a distance is poor, and sometimes the high quality textures don't pop up when you get close to them. It's also too bad that it's not compatible with any other texture mods. Would have been cool if he could have figured out how to layer the snow on top of the textures instead of just replacing all of them.
However, for what it is as an 8 year old mod, it works, it's compatible with Project Reality and other weather related mods.
Also, it installs and uninstalls just fine for me using NMM, so I'm not sure why others are having a problem.

I am experiencing some Trash bin got the wrong texture that makes it "see through"
some water problem
and some mistery shaped transparent things like glasses on the ground, mostly found indoor
anyone got any suggestion what I can do with them? or what exactly file causing these so I can just delete them?
