    Never had any audio problems with this mod, also completed two games without issues.  I use NMM to mod, FO3 GOG version

    screw this abandoned placebo crap that ruins your game. Can't even remove it properly. this is what happens when you let a selected few take over the game's modding scene.

    After finishing the installation process and booting up my game, everything seems normal except for Liam Neeson. I cannot hear any of his voicelines.

    There is an sArchiveList character limit of 255, going beyond this forces BSAs beyond that character count to be cut off completely. Therefore, this mod will most definitely break your game.

    It is recommended to simply use Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.

    It comes with the same fixes, without any of the breaking.

    This breaks more stuff than it fixes. It actually doesn't fix anything, provided nothing's broken in the first place, which was my case at first.

    I solved the lip sync issue and the missing audio, and now every single sound effect is delayed a bit, which is kinda frustrating at times. It was too much work to make it barely work, and some lipsyncs are still out of sync or some NPCs lips don't move sometimes, which is usually not the case after fixing no NPC lip movement at all when speaking.

    Mostly every single comment here is an issue which, as you may see for yourself, got no solution whatsoever.

    Stay as far away as humanly possible from this mod.

    For anyone confused with the part where it says "INSERT MOD MANAGER ARCHIVE INVALIDATION BSA" in the ini files, at least when I installed the mod and converted the WAV files, the ini files already had that configured. I didn't need to copy/paste anything since the bold text in the description matched what was already in the ini files, and after about an hour of playtesting a new save I haven't run into any sound related issues. I'm running MO2 (so for me it's called Fallout - Invalidation.bsa), had already installed the Updated Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch, etc. so my ini files were already generated and I let the WAV converter do its thing. Scrolling down I read this post, dated back to 30 June 2023:
    I'm working on changing the MO2 version of installer where you can point where MO2's ini's are installed so that you need not edit the inis yourselves.
    In other words, at least for MO2 I don't think you need to do anything else beyond converting the .ogg files.

    If anyone still ran into issues regardless, feel free to correct me as this is only my first time modding Fallout 3. I'm still learning the ropes.
    Edit: I realize after just posting that the mod was not updated since the 26th of June, so I'm not sure if it was ever implemented, but still in my experience, no sound issues.

I scoured the comments and others were mentioning selecting path to mo2 ini files, i never found that option anywhere. the desc states i need to paste INSERT MOD MANAGER ARCHIVE INVALIDATION BSA into falloutcustomini and replace this text with something .... what mod manager invalidation bsa?

    FalloutPrefs.ini doesn't have a [General] and [Archive] section but Fallout.ini does.  Is that a typo on the description tab?

      That mean you didn't generate your ini files.

      This is done my opening the Fallout 3 Launcher and  going to settings. Loading the setting tab will generate your inis.

      I ran the Fallout Launcher today to generate the INI files.

      These lines are found in Fallout.ini.  I don't see anything remotely like that in FalloutPrefs.ini.

      [General]
      sEssentialFileCacheList=Data\Fallout.esm|Data2\Fallout.esm, Data\Music\Special\MainTitle.mp3, Data\Fallout - Sound.bsa|Fallout - Sound.bsa, Data\Fallout - Voices.bsa|Fallout - Voices.bsa, Data\Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa|Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa
      sUnessentialFileCacheList=Data\Fallout - Meshes.bsa|Data2\Fallout - Meshes.bsa, Data\Fallout - Textures.bsa|Data2\Fallout - Textures.bsa, Data\Music\Dungeon\*.xma, Data\Music\Base\*.mp3, Data\Music\Battle\*.mp3, Data\Music\Explore\*.mp3, Data\Music\Public\*.mp3, Data\Music\Special\*.mp3

      [Archive]
      SMasterMiscArchiveFileName=Fallout - Misc.bsa
      SMasterVoicesArchiveFileName1=Fallout - Voices.bsa
      SMasterVoicesArchiveFileName2=Fallout - MenuVoices.bsa
      SMasterSoundsArchiveFileName=Fallout - Sound.bsa
      SMasterTexturesArchiveFileName1=Fallout - Textures.bsa
      SMasterMeshesArchiveFileName=Fallout - Meshes.bsa

      iRetainDirectoryStringTable=1
      bCheckRuntimeCollisions=0
      bInvalidateOlderFiles=0
      bUseArchives=1

      @VearCon64 Probably not but why would you want to do that anyway?  The point of converting from ogg to wav is because the game has to decompress ogg files which can cause stuttering in the game whereas wav is already in an uncompressed albeit larger format hence no stuttering.

      My man, are you really really sure it wasn't a typo? No matter how many times I've regenerated, those sections do not show up in FalloutPrefs.ini. In fact, when I scouted around the Internet for versions of the FalloutPrefs.ini that others had happened to upload, I could not find those sections either. If your personal FalloutPrefs.ini has these sections, would you care to maybe share it as an optional file?

      That's good news then, if you weren't using this mod, your CPU would likely explode.
