Quick overview on how to follow the latest update:

-Remove mods that have been removed from the guide
-Add mods that have been added to the guide (and pay attention to details on installation procedures)
-Follow any new instructions that have been added to any mod's description
    -Reorganize the mod install order
    -Reorganize the plugin load order
    -Re-create the Merged Patch

This is pretty good. I like the guide, very helpful. I rather like this as a base to more modding. Perhaps adding on a Clear and Present Danger step project? Has anyone tried that? DCinteriors and Darnified UI was my fave from way back then (haven't played FO3 since 2017... this year? Phew.), so I will def add that in.

I guess my second question would be then, has anyone tried merging various plugins together to cut down on the count?

Fantastic. Too many guides leave way too much of their info off of their guide. I never felt lost with this one. Well done!

I'm having a weird issue with NVAC and this modding guide. The guide says to "install normally" for NVAC, though, because I use Vortex for my New Vegas mods, Nexus keeps telling me that it doesn't associate New Vegas with MO1 since my MO1 is associated with Fallout 3. To get around this issue, I simply manually installed NVAC and copy-pasted the zipped file into the "downloads" tab of M01 and was seemingly able to install it normally from there (the "NVSE" folder is properly named "FOSE" under the mods directory, so surely something must've gone right).

However, MO1 still has an error notification next to the NVAC install that says it can't find the download via Nexus. Moreover, FOSE refuses to start correctly when loading it up via MO1 when NVAC is turned off, and when NVAC is turned on, FOSE loads to a black screen with game audio playing in the background. Anyone got a fix for this?

Nexus not associating FNV to MO1 due to Vortex being associated to it instead (while you're trying to download a mod for FO3) is not really a problem and the way to go is exactly as you did: downloading NV mods manually and placing them on the downloads directory of MO1. That'll probably happen to every NV mod you'll download throughout the guide. MO1 giving that error is to be expect as well.

About the black screen with FOSE, you could try deleting the game's config files (in your "Documents" directory as well as in the MO "profiles" directory) and try to launch the game (its launcher) without FOSE so that it create new files with proper graphics settings. The game could be trying to launch with an unsupported resolution or something like that. You could also try installing the "redistributables" that come inside FO3's folder such as DirectX9c, DotNetFX and VCRedist. I'm pretty sure i've had this not launching/black screen problem multiple times in the past and have been able to fix it, i'm not sure there's a single solution but it is possible to solve it.

I deleted the config files as you suggested and it fixed it right up, thanks!

I'm confident that the issue came from some past modding I did on Fallout 3 ages ago which involved some config changes. I always forget that Windows automatically loads your old files as they were when you re-download a game.

No idea either, maybe he's just not satisfied with his work and wants to keep it private until he updates it. You could just try private messaging him and asking for it to be unhidden or a download link.

Project Beauty got an update and there is no "Optional Merged Version" now, what do we do? Just use it the way it comes?

Just download the "HD Edition" main file and keep all three plugins active instead of just one (since there is no merged plugin anymore). I have already changed the instructions for the next update of the guide.

And what about the plugin order? I have them as:

      - RH_IRONSIGHTS.esm
      - Project Beauty.esm
      - Project Beauty - Broken Steel.esp
      - Project Beauty - Point Lookout.esp
      - rmSaveManager.esp

      It's correct?

In the mod "NMC Textures NV Large Part 1" the file "bldgcorner01window_n.dds" does not seem to exist, ¿it's "bldgcorner01window02.dds"?

Great job with this MOJskyrim this is my first time playing Fallout 3 even though I've played modded New Vegas, FO4, and Skyrim countless times and this guide was just what I needed!

First of all thanks for the efforts. One question I have while installing the texture packs (New Vegas NMC) why can't we just delete the files we are not using instead of hiding them. I do understand that there might be a perfectly logical reason for this and I am not aware of it.

When you "uncheck" files (that's how it is in the MO 1 version of the guide at least) these files simply aren't extracted from the compressed files so you don't even need to delete anything in the first place. I'm not the one who wrote the equivalent procedures for the MO 2 version of the guide so i didn't even know that "hiding" doesn't delete files. I imagine you're using that version then? Anyway, the reason could be keeping potentially useful files, which might not be a good enough reason for the space wasted, but i guess that's just what my partner (the MO 2 version manager) thought.

Hi, great guide, one small correction:

Under files to hide in NMC's Texture pack for New Vegas Part 1:
    bldgcorner01window_n.dds should be bldgcorner01window02.dds

    Cheers.
