I don't get why everyone seems so intent on the whole cross-stitching thing. I can't find anything on the Fallout wiki to suggest that the Lone Wanderer's mother cross-stitched the quote. And as you said, it would be extremely difficult to cross stitch in that style. Also, though there is civilization around the Capital Wasteland, I don't know if someone would be able to find enough preserved wool, cotton, or any other types of fiber to use for such a thing, much less as a hobby. For all we know, since there isn't a "Bible" item in the game, maybe James cut the page out of the book and framed it after her death. Either way, the idea of cross-stitching the quote isn't really lore purity (Due to the fact that there's no lore explanation for it), so I don't think people have anything to point out with this. Either way, great mod!
I know it's been years since this was updated, but I just wanted to say it inspired me to make my own attempt at making it look cross-stitched. It was fun This looks lovely and way smoother than the original, thank you! Endorsed
There's a big problem with making it look hand-stitched.
It looks. HIDEOUS.
Really, nothing I have tried has kept it from looking like a badly pixelated image. I tried cross-stitch, as that's usually the type of thing that people frame, but... well. The result was entirely unreadable. If I ever get it to WORK, I will put up a stitched variant. For now, though... I'd much rather it look nice, personally.
As noted before, you do realise that this was probably hand stitched by your mother in the game (I think the proper term is cross stitched)? That's why it was framed nicely. If you want to improve it, it needs to look more like needle work rather than a pixelated photo which you took it to be.
Good work on the mod though "> It does what you want it to.
I kinda tried to make it look more like ink (calligraphy) than... than... Augh, there's just no excuse to make something like that and then draw your eyes to it directly in the course of the game. The texture was half the size it should have been.
And crap, sorry. I haven't used an Archive Invalidation file since Invalidated! came out. I'll go on and fix it.
