This is a pretty cool idea. I definitely am trying this out here in a few minutes after it's installed since I'm currently in a game of it. It would have been neat to place some possible reference to Bob Ross in some historical black and white Pre-War Photo.
would it be possible to use this as replacer for the "lit background poster" and replace your texture with postertextures? that could really spice up the subwaystations.
so will this work with texture replacers etc? i know that corehound tried this before and as i recall, an esp is needed to call the texture change, otherwise it won't work. so it doesnt surprise me to see an unchanging mesh when viewing the file.
I'm not totally sure what you have in mind. I'm not aware of the corehound work you mention, do you have a link ? The mesh, although not visibly, has been quite modified, so it won't work as simple replacer. I hope to be able to bring, next month, an extensive tutorial about textures animations along with a set of resource. There's so much potential in this matter that I won't be able to make all the possible mods... So if you're patient enough, you will be able to make exactly what you have in mind.
As for posters for subway station, it's on my list, but not on the top of it.
erm, corehound got banned here, but i got that file before. the problem with replacer is to have an esp that changes the entry for the objectID to call the animations. otherwise the animations won't play. you don' need to open every cell, you just need to open the listentry and edit it to load your mesh (or you could replace the mesh) and play the animations instead. after a few looks into the GECK, i refuse to ever open it again, so i wasn't able to make such changes myself, but i understand some of the mechanisms.
Hum, I'm sorry to hear that. If you don't have any mods that modifies the things listed in the description -Incompatibility section-, then I'm clueless...
Which version are you using ? Did you install manually or with a manager ? Are the files appearing in the folders they supposed to be ? That is: - DataMeshesAnimatedPoster For the AnimatedPoster01.nif or AnimatedPoster02.nif
- DatatexturesAnimatedPoster For the textures AnimatedPoster01A.dds or AnimatedPoster02A.dds AnimatedPoster01B.dds or AnimatedPoster02B.dds PixFlat.dds PixFlat_n.dds
Just trying to figure out
My practice is to use the FO3 Mod Installer, then check manually after installation. The files you mention are all where they should be - using Animatedposter01a.dds and 01b dds, and the other two dds's are there also.
The spot in the Megaton House, where I understand it should show up, remains completely unchanged so far.
Good practice that is. Do you have any theme installed? Did you tried one version then the other just by changing esp and reloading a save? Would you mind to post or send me by PM (as you prefer) your load order?
Bought the Animated Poster first (my first purchase for the House). No result. Bought a Theme and a couple of other things later - they all show up immediately, but not this mod. Was going to do the 3-day wait / cell reset thing and, if that didn't work, then try changing the load order.
Nice and simple. I’m always searching for deep, the default Fallout 3 looks huge but after few hours talk with the robot become to the most complex thing to do at Megaton's house. Mods do a lot of additional things with few changes, sometimes with no elements more than a script. I don't know why Bethesda releases such unexplored product but I hope to Fallout 4 they took many ideas from mods.
I wish I could make it simpler, without disturbing existing things. Just a suspended moment in the Wastelands... Specially nice if you don't have a green mod installed.
Turbo's images have been made especially for this mod. You can't imagine how many beautiful shots I've seen!
I may have a problem. Installed the mod but, after buying it from Moira, it has not appeared in my Megaton place. Everything else I buy appears immediately, as previously. Wondering if this will appear after three days or what.
The only other mod change I have made to the Megaton house is the retex of the Bobblehead stand.

The author did a fine job with this one, so give it a shot.
Its quite fun and satisfying to activate the poster and watch the scene change.
This is sort of proof of concept, hope to bring more.
