pure garbage. The worst mod I've ever seen. There are many things that point to this. for example, this is the only mod for Fallout3 and for any game in general that constantly crashes when starting the game. It’s also terrible that this mod REPLACES the original sounds and weapons. Now I sit and delete each folder individually that this terrible mod replaced. If only I had read the comment below before this... although the first time I downloaded it was Classic Fallout Weapons BETA and it worked perfectly
WARNING!!! Do not add this s*** to your game it will break so many things because it doesn't add some of the weapons it REPLACES VANILLA WEAPONS which causes so many conflicts and problems! Just use the original mod because it only adds not replaces! One easy example is this replaces the hunting rifle with a "Colt 556" so it tries to rename it and change the ammo type of the gun completely writing over it, but any mod that tries to do the same like even a patch will change this partially back, this means issues such as super mutants spawning with a hunting rifle and 556 ammo and not being able to use the rifle because the original ammo is .32 not 556; this can be fixed by load order or FO3Edit (manually) but there's way more conflicts than this single weapon, don't risk it.
Edit: Looking in FO3Edit looks like the original mod that's in "BETA" (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/2307) doesn't seem to overwrite anything, so go download that mod instead because it doesn't replace just adds.
Yeah you're right. I just downloaded this to check it out, since it is a newer version and does have some additional weapons that weren't in the original, but yeah. Its a total replacer mod. Not something that adds weapons to the game. The author should rename it to make this more clear, although there is little chance of that happening. Damn shame, but I'm going to have to use the original since a total replacer mod on this scale is bound to run into compatibility issues in the future.
yeee I recently just got back to play fallout 3 again and tried to find any weapon packs that has the classic Fallout weapons from the first two games even tactics but all it does is ruin the gum sound and literally makes them too loud and unbalanced like what you say I'm glad I'm not the only one who just noticed that this mod is garbage .. I even remember a stumbling upon this mod ages ago and got pissed off about the sounds but I forgot which one it was and looks like I found it lol
Got this mod in hopes that it would just add the classic FO weapons into the game. Turns out it edits basically everything, as well as adding things which aren't classic weapons. I'm not going to go through and manually disable everything which I don't want cus that would end up in me basically having none of the mod, as well as the fact that I cannot find most of the edited weapons. Unless there's another mod/file/whatever which ONLY adds the classic weapons in this mod, can't say I'm going to ever use it.
After installing this all my Gun sounds are all unbalanced. the Laser weapons are super quiet, and some of the assault weapon style weapons have very low quality sound, while some of the other weapons sound fine.
anyway to fix this? love the mod, but sound is a huge thing for me
