I'm not seeing trolls or any other giants to train. I do have the little guys and the mounts, though. Am I supposed to play Empires instead of Kingdoms?
Thanks for the response. I have researched Cooperation and Logistics for Adolescent and Adult Giants, respectively, and am researching Company now for Behemoths. But, again, they aren't on my list of units I can train.
I am able to train pack drakes, drakes, slags, storm dragons, four shrill types, two warg versions, wildings, war boars, and mire skaths.
Okay, they also require the Wildland Allies research from the base game, all giant units do. The research that would allow you to build Ogre and Troll dens
OK, I did see "Wildland Allies" in your description but wasn't sure if you were using in interchangeably with "Wildland Alliance".
In either case, I don't see it anywhere on the research tree for all three research types. My faction attributes are Dragon Taming, Shrill Master, and Wildland Alliance [and No Armor for that extra point necessary to get all three of those!] but I'm just not seeing where the Wildland Allies research is.
You mention from the "base game". I've got the FE: LH so shouldn't it be included?
I suppose I can start a new game as Empire and see if it shows up (even though you said faction doesn't matter). At this point I'm more curious about why they aren't available than the units themselves!

You'll need to use a custom race with the Wildland Allies ability, and then the Trolls and such should appear in the tech tree.
