Love the mod, but I'm unsure as to why my game is crashing when entering dragon cliff. The mod looks as if its installed right as the demon door is in hook coast and it will allow me to pass, but after about 20 seconds the game will crash every time.  I'm no expert on modding fable so I'm curious as to what I've done wrong.

The game also crashes when entering archons folly, I'm unsure if its related to the mod but I'm mentioning it just incase the bug is related.

Hello! I recently tested out the mod as I plan on making some updates for it and just saw your message. Sorry for the slow response!

Are you able to get into the Dragon Cliff map? Because 20 seconds is a lot faster than any of the results I am getting. It appears to me that the game is likely to crash whenever the Dragon plays certain animations or tries to do certain effects for an attack. It's possible that these are unstable as they are directly imported from the Xbox version of the game (where they went unused anyways).

I find that the game is less likely to crash if you walk up one of the three giant towers that triangulate the map. From my testing, it appears to make it less likely for the Dragon to attack because of your presence. My guess is that it realizes that it can't really attack you from such a high area and decides to hover or fly away instead.

We duplicated and then edited a new version of Jack's Dragon Form and added all of this new information that was imported from the Xbox Version. I was surprised it even worked to begin with! But as you can see from this mod, there are some drawbacks to doing this and unfortunately there is no way around it or else the Dragon does not animate properly. Jack's Dragon Form for example now looks slightly off whenever he does a flying animation, but the fight itself still works for me.

Hopefully this helped and thank you for the feedback!

Edit: After doing some additional testing, I can confirm that the consistency of these crashes is tied to the particle effects that the dragon does when it attacks. I am not sure if this is because I am using Windows 11. You can try downloading the latest version and in your Video Options, turn down "Effects" by one or two levels.

It would seem it is my turn to apologize for the slow response lol

Those are some very interesting results to come out of playing the mod. I'll definitely give version 2 a playtest at some stage, with your recommendation of turning down the settings a few levels.

I ended up disabling the dragon last playthrough and just being able to wander around Dragons Cliff for the first time after all these years of hoping someone would mod it into the PC version was a real treat. I'm looking forward to seeing version 2 and the future potential of this mod.

Keep up the amazing work. its incredible how far this has come.
